35Why do the local congregations always pay for the D.O. and C.O. visits?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inevery time a circuit and district overseer visited our congregation,the elders always wanted a show of hands from the congregation to see if we would pay for their car expenses and travel.sometimes the congregation would pay for airline tickets.it was always approved.. do you know if the idea came from the local congregations to pay?
did the wts send out letters to each congregation to see if they would pay?
we know that the wts always get what they want.. it's amazing how we paid $250-$400 for each overseer visit and the wts paid nothing..

Maybe I don't want to live in Paradise
by pratt1 inwhen i was a teenager, and really trying hard to be a "super witness" i remember thinking that if all the wicked people were destroyed, how would this change our everyday life.. what happends to the people that supply electricity, water, garbage collection, gas, fuel for cars, mechanics, farmers, cattle herders, etc.... how would we survive?
if armafoggeten happened in the winter would those in colder climates die?.
i you were on some sort of medical equipment that required electricity, would you die if there is no one a run to work in the electrical plant?.

My biggest issue with "God is Love" is "if" (and that is a big if) the whole reason we are here today is because God wants to teach mankind that they "can't rule themselves", when is it enough?
Couldn't enough of mankind been at 100 million? 500 million...1 billion? Why the endless allowance of suffering of innocents to prove mankind can't rule themselves?
That along with the senseless punishment highlighted by Lt Love, makes me question everything. The paradise concept is story concocted by the WTBS to put the "other sheep" somewhere. Even though a peaceful time is alluded to from time to time in scripture, it is not clear in the very least.
And a JW paradise is no paradise to me.

"thats all you need" .
first off....... when you go to bethel, you sign a document stating that if you die while you are at bethel, the society has "the right" to keep your body.........most people, just sign it and forget about it, but don't you think that is just a little strange?..........i did.

I didn't know about the keeping the body in death. And those medical judgements...they fueled the R & F to react similarly to their own health crisis on the outside.

i actually never noticed while we were studying the book that a few of the trumpeters were antsy and sounded their trumpets prematurely.
it was a qfr that alerted us to another thing wrong with their interpretation.

I was told that all the seals were opened in 1914 and have been being fulfilled throughout from then on. How exactly a one time event can be said to be "being fulfilled" over a long span of time is beyond me.

Cruzanheart was on national TV (Dateline, Murphy Texas)
by Big Tex indateline has been running a series of programs on internet child predators.
just a few months ago, they (along with perverted justice) made an appearance in sleepy little murphy, texas.
they used a house 2 blocks from where we live (all those evil, wicked apostates who've been to my home should know).. tonight they ran the episode, complete with the arrest of a local school teacher who was trolling after what he thought a 13 year old boy, a neighbor (literally) and a public prosecutor who killed himself rather than be arrested.

If You've Faded, Do You Still Consider Yourself a Dub?
by brunnhilde ini've been thinking about this a lot, because i've chosen to fade and i would never refer to myself as a jdub, but i've read postings from others who do.
i would have written a letter a year ago but i've got older parents who are upset enough about me just not attending.
on another thread someone is also leaving and they were advised to tell the jc to do whatever, to not acknowledge that they have any authority.

My cousin died of Lou Garrett Disease
by free2beme inless then two years ago my cousin, who was then 39, was working on his parents home and found he was having a hard time hammering in nails.
he would hit the nail, but as hard as he would try, he would end up making it crocked and he could not control it.
he thought this was weird, and decided to visit a doctor.
