My Partner and I have been together for 10 years today!
by ohiocowboy ini am very proud that we have been together for 10 years!
being raised a jw, it was always hard for me to find a long term relationship.
most people that i met weren't interested in anything long term, and each time one ended, it left me feeling like i would never find someone who shared the same feelings.

I knew there was a reason I don't get the spicy tuna rolls. I guess unless you were sitting at the bar watching them prepare it.

A JWN Member just lost her Husband and She could use some encouragement.
by ohiocowboy inon 4/6, the poster orphan annie posted about her experiences with jw's and her ill husband.
unfortunately, her husband died monday, and she is feeling very sad.
i just wanted to make others aware of it, so that we can encourage her and give her some much needed support during this rough time.. her original thread is here.

My son was murdered today
by truman ini have been on this site daily, almost from its beginning, since i left the jws in 2001, but i have been more of a reader than a poster, as you can see from my post count.
i know few here know me, although i know many of you through reading your posts.
maybe it is not right to ask for support, when i generally stay quietly in the background of this forum, but i want only to speak a human misery of the deepest kind.

Interview with former Watchtower P.R. man Robert Jankowski
by Dogpatch inlast week i took a trip down to santa ana, ca.
and met robert jankowski, a name i heard very often at bethel in the late 70s.
robert was one of the voices of many watchtower drama characters in the 70s, along with tom cabeen, who he often worked with.. in addition, the watchtower was allowed a slot on local radio stations every sunday (allowed by law free of charge to churches then) , which he provided to the radio stations in cassette form in advance.

Emblem stupidity, and the bizarre dance of the confused memorial-taker
by cedars inwell, i went along to the memorial with mrs cedars.
it was my first since my "awakening" just less than a year ago.
apparently i made a lot of people happy by being there (even if it was only building up false hopes), the most important of which were my family.

That's the first time I saw the invitation. Wow...what a stupid invitation! Writing department is slipping. Makes no sense.
It's typical JW rhetoric, let me ask you a question about YOUR beliefs, and then I will tell YOU what they are or what they should be!
Like the old sarcastic retort, "When I want your opinion, I'll give it to you!" So loving! NOT
Exactly. Rude.

So,.......What Do They Do Next?
by metatron inwhat do recent events tell us?
well, the special talk seemed utterly directed at getting lapsed witnesses back into the cult.
"jehovah wants you back......".

Thank you for finding that quote.
I get the feeling they are just doing SOS waiting for the end to come. There is no urgency, and the WBTS are cutting costs and full time workers.
In hearing former friends talk about aux pioneering last month, they do it because it is just what they do every year. Same Old Sh*t.

The music that moves you....
by FlyingHighNow inonce when i was profoundly sad for too many days, my brother in law sent us a mix tape.
he named each song after a person in our family.

Memorial Bragging Rights: We Had a "Bethel Speaker"...Ooooooo..

We had Bethel speakers for memorial most of the years in my last hall. Sydlik pioneered in this area years ago, so he always liked coming out. He was quite the dapper friendly person...and truth be told, very down to earth and kind. Marina was always in the background, seemed shy.
The last few years I went we had JR Brown. He had an entourage. They had to issue tickets to the congregation for the meetings while he was here because there were so many in his entourage, there wouldn't be enough seating for those who actually went to the hall.
A very different experience than what Barbara and Joe had, I'm sure.
And then there is Ianelli....
