I got the job
by berylblue inthanks so much to everyone for their support over the past weeks.. .
tim interviewed me every night this past week in order to get me ready.
it was grueling and i was in tears (not due to any pressure from him, but because of my own inadequacies); i've relied in the past on my personal warmth and integrity to get jobs but really needed to learn how to answer difficult questions.

Well, being from Canada (see avatar) I'm more of a hockey nut than baseball. I find baseball is a good way to put me to sleep. No offense to those that enjoy it...I am still trying to understand this American Sunday Religion called the "NFL"
I think I'll stick with my hockey...ahhh...ice, sticks and blades...a fine Canadian tradition!

Sacrifices - choices
by donkey ina couple of questions: .
if you could travel back in time and ended up in germany where hitler was a 5 year old child and you had the opportunity to strangle him to death with your bare hands....would you do it?
if an animal species could be saved from extinction by killing one human - would you do it?
-
dottie
Hitler would not have been a problem if nobody have followed him !!!
Agreed...maybe go back and convince the German people how much of a loony he was...but then again you never now what that would have led to. As for the extinction of any one animal...civilization to a certain extent is responsible as a whole, not just any one person IMHO. With the growing planet population and animals getting pushed out of their natural habitats, it is something that was inevitable to happen. Unfortunately, I think that when I'm older and have grandkids someday, I know that animals that are still alive today won't be around when they are growing up. Sad to think about. -

Bring it in a bag
by Nosferatu inanyone ever remember this council?
whenever you're bringing an item to the meeting to give to someone else, and it's not theocratic, you should deliver the item in a bag.
i found this to be the most rediculous thing i ever heard.

Hit Me With Some Snappy Comebacks Puleeeeeeeeze!!
by HadEnuf inokay...so i'm invited to a baby shower for my daughter-in-law which will most likely be attended by myriads upon myriads of jw's.
i won't go into the nasty details...but they've been married four years now and have another little daughter...their wedding was boycotted by most jw's because she was not baptized yet (but grew up a jw)...and my son was.
so every since the wedding fiasco...they have been pretty much shunned by the jw's...and attend meetings infrequently.

I don't have any good suggestions as I usually just turn and walk away when confronted (yea, I hate confrontation ) But damn! I am ROTFLMAO at some of these suggestions
