to all the mommy's out there...did you deliver vaginally or by c-section?.
i was fortunate enough to deliver both my children vaginally although i came close to a c-section with my son.
he was in the posterier position.
People asked after I had Amy if it was a natural birth (meaning did I have an epidural) and my swift reply was "not by choice". I wanted one but due to Amy's eagerness to appear,(about 5 hrs total labour and pushing time) I was having her "naturally". There was no tearing or stitches (probably because the nurse delivered her not the doctor) and my recovery was actually pretty quick. (trust me, I count my blessings on my birthing experience, I have heard too many horror stories) Congrats to all the new mommies!! Dottie
when i get up for work in the morning i normally watch a bit of news in bed before i start to move around.
the other day i was flipping through the channels and came across a very very strange show on pbs at 6:30 am (dallas channel 13) called boobah.
it is designed for very young children... and i swear it looks like an acid trip!
Will and I just got Amy a Boobah doll the other day (clearance at toys r us- musta been spooking the employees LOL) Of course Boobah is her first 2 syllable word, and she is also mystified by the show. When first saw the show I thought it reminded me of a Stanley Kubrick movie
hope you all had a terrific weekend!!
amy was discharged on tuesday late afternoon and she's doing great.
when she was discharged we were still waiting for the anti-seizure meds to be completely out of her system, which was really the only thing that was keeping her in the hospital.
Greetings Everyone!!!!
Hope you all had a terrific weekend!!
Amy was discharged on Tuesday late afternoon and she's doing great. When she was discharged we were still waiting for the anti-seizure meds to be completely out of her system, which was really the only thing that was keeping her in the hospital. The docs agreed that she was perfectly fine and seeing as waiting for the meds to completely metabolize was kind of like waiting for hell to freeze over, they figured that she could do that at home, "if we were comfortable with that" (LOL Like they had to ask!!! )
She's doing great, she had to go back on Friday to get her blood checked (med count again). She's quite the little trooper, she didn't even cry when the lab tech took her blood, just made a face like she was gonna freak then calmed right down again LOL.
My apologies for the delay in writing you all but I think we just wanted some quiet time for the 3 of us. (I haven't even told my Dad yet that she's home
When we get some pics on the pc I will post some. Until then she has quite the full head of brown hair (at first it was very dark, now it seems to be lightening up, almost in auburn colour) she has dark blue eyes ( like most newborns) but I'm thinking that they are also changing a bit. I have never seen a newborn with such long arms and legs...I think she may be part monkey LOL!!!
Anyway, I'm off to catch a catnap, but I hope my note finds you all well. Thanks again for all your well wishes. All 3 of us really appreciate your love and support.
Many Hugs and Much Love,
Crystal, Will and Amy
i will just cut and paste
amy elizabeth was born on august 6 at 3:21 pm weighing in at 7 lbs and 12 oz in niagara falls, ontario (i knew she was gonna be a canucker ) she was a quick and fast delivery (5 and a half hours).
amy had low blood sugar at birth so her blood was tested every few hours and saturday after one of the nurses came in to check her blood, we noticed that her right arm had a twitch in it.
Thanks to all for your well wishes
Amy Is home now with us!!!!. Her prognosis looks really good, we just have to keep an eye on her for more seizures. Her anti-seizure medication is still in her system(one pretty big damn loading dose from the evening of the 7th) so we have to wait until it is completely out of her system to know what to expect. She is such a beautiful girl and she has attitude already just like her Daddy She's doing really well and the Dr I spoke with yesterday before her discharge said that alot of the team don't think that she's likely to have another, it's just good to air on the side of caution.
Anyway, I'm off to change diapers now LOL
Many Hugs and Much Love,
Crystal, Will, and Amy
no i'm not waiting on armageddon .
my due date isn't until friday and i'm already waiting for this baby to be born.
i am bored!!!!!
How much cash do you think it would take to bribe him into inducing me????
Well it looks like I may get my wish.(And I didn't have to bribe anyone) Just got back from the Dr's and he said because I'm quite a distance to the hospital (about a 45 min drive) I could go ahead with induction as early as Friday if I wanted!!!!!!! Talk about a slap in the face from the reality demon!!!!
LOL at least I won't be bored anymore We'll keep everyone posted as to what happens....

i am bored!!!!!
Um...I wish I was that Crystal... but alas...I must have another identity somewhere
what did you do when you were 35-week pregnant.
i'm so tired.
I just saw this thread and boy do I feel your pain sister!!!!!!!! I am due this week and am bored out of my mind (see thread entitled "waiting and waiting" LOL)
I was moving long distance at 35 weeks, but slept for a couple weeks when we arrived here. I think that the best thing I do for myself is sleep when I'm tired. Even if it's a 20 minute catnap it really helps.(although the 20 min naps usually turn into at least hour long naps )
Best of luck to you and many baby belly rubs!!!!
Crystal

No I'm not waiting on Armageddon (or am I???? )
My due date isn't until Friday and I'm already waiting for this baby to be born. I am bored!!!!! I am bored with working on my cross stitch that I'm trying to get done before the baby gets here, I'm bored of reading "What to Expect" this n' that, I'm bored with cleaning (wow that nesting this is for real ) I am bored with pretty much everything except Will
I shouldn't complain, I know. All the veteran Mommies are saying " ENJOY IT WHILE IT LASTS!!!!! SILLY WOMAN!!!!!!!" I guess I'm just tired of being pregnant. It hasn't been an easy pregnancy, so I guess I just want the baby here now. (I really don't understand how anyone could find pregnancy "enjoyable" or the "greatest")
Honestly I'm not complaining...just venting due to the fact that I'M BORED!!
Any Moms have any ideas?? I am going to go crazy if I'm really late. I have my (hopefully) last Doctor's appointment today...How much cash do you think it would take to bribe him into inducing me????
Hugs!!!!!
Crystal
happy canada day !!!!!!!!!
have a pint or three for me as i won't be able to have a beer till after the baby arrives (around aug 6th).
believe me, i will thoroughly enjoy my birthday this year
Scully & kls:
It's funny, I have had many requests to wait or to have the baby early. The worst is what my Dad said when I told him we were pregnant: "Well maybe you'll have the baby on your birthday!" (My birthday is Sept 4th!!!!!!) I told him if he wanted to carry the baby those extra few weeks that would be terrific. LOL
(btw...Scully could you pm me with your email, I have a few questions that only a L & D Nurse could help me with )
