Pretty crazy that adults must hide what they are reading online? Shows the cult mentality. I admit that I have to hide what I view and delete the history each time I am here. I beg to differ with that statement. I feel it shows the mentality of those who hide what they are. Just be true to yourself! I know, I have heard all the arguements about having to hide because of being in a family of Witness's and how it would break up entire families and so, but thats the problem here. It is not the people, wife, husband, Elders, friends you should be hiding from, what can they do to you? Jehovah knows what you are doing, doesn't He? I prefere to take Jesus advice.....be either hot or cold, not luke warm. I just don't understand people who continue to go to the meetings when they hate it and live double lives.

Man not supposed to live forever.
by searcher ingen 3:22 and jehovah god went on to say: here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad, and now in order that he may not put his hand out and actually take [fruit] also from the tree of life and eat and live to time indefinite, nwt

What you all fail to understand is that God DID create man to live forever on a paradise earth. For you Bible readers it is right there in Genesis!
Searcher posted this......Gen 3:22 And Jehovah God went on to say: “Here the man has become like one of us in knowing good and bad, and now in order that he may not put his hand out and actually take [fruit] also from the tree of life and eat and live to time indefinite,—” NWT
What searcher forgot to post is the scriptures PRIOR to that one. Genesis 2:15-17......... " And Jehovah God proceeded to take the man and settle him in the garden of E´den to cultivate it and to take care of it. And Jehovah God also laid this command upon the man: "From every tree of the garden you may eat to satisfaction. But as for the tree of the knowledge of good and bad you must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die."
What does that imply? Common sense and the ability to read dictates, along with what the REST of the Bible says about this subject is that God created the earth for mankind as their home. He created them to Live on it forever. Read that verse, it tells us that if they did not eat from the tree ( obeying God ) they would have continued to live. It is right there!

If the Watchtower ceased to exist right now, what would this mean for you?
by JH inwhat would it change in your life right now if the watchtower fell apart and didn't exist anymore?.
maybe some would want to join another realigion right away, because they still believed a bit of what they preached and didn't want to join a false religion, just as the jw's brand all other religions..... .

Maybe it wouldn't bother you personally, but I'm sure you'd feel some sort of JOY for those still in and would be finally set free?
Are people really free of the WT (as you say) after they leave? It seems to me that they are not. I have seen many who were once loving and kind become bitter and vengeful and hateful. The bagge they carrier will be with them forever unless they take steps to change.

Was it ever to your advantage to say that you were a JW?
by JH inmaybe during an interview, "hey, i'm a jw", you can trust me....lol.
the elders always told us that jehovah's name opens doors.. well, not in my case, how about you?.

Junction guy I am sorry my post wasn't intended to dog ministers, I was just conveying a real life personal experience. I know there are many good people out there outside of the JWS, many are even better people than some professed JWS( notice my initial post I included Jws among phonies). My point was is that yes there are advantages of being associated with the JWS only if you are acting in a manner to show evidence of your affiliation.

It is one thing to 'say' you are a JW, it is an 'entirely' different thing to actually be one. That is the problem with many today, not only in Gods Organization, but also in the proffessed Christian groups. Claiming to be something and proving to be otherwise. There are many advantages of having the JW name attached to you when you are actually being one. I for one enjoy how some at my job will not curse and tell dirty jokes around me out of respect, knowing I am a JW and do not talk like that, whereas they have no problem talking that way around the professed Christian Ministers who join in right along with them. That is a great advantage in that you are not subject to obscence speech all day long.
You said that is was never an advantage in your case? Maybe it was because you acted in a manner that reflected you were just like all the rest, and thus was treated like them.

Hazeleyes my heart goes out to you. My wife was molested as a child as well and it has really done a number on her. Again I am so sorry for that happening to you .
It is so hard to give advice being so far away and not even knowing you as a person so all I can offer to you in way of advice concerning your situation with your HUSBAND is to learn from the mistakes you perceive to be mistakes. He sounds like a loser. I also suggest some type of counseling for dealing with your past. My heart breaks for you

If SATAN could offer you something desireable, would you accept it?
by JH inif it was possible for satan to offer you something desireable, knowing that god wouldn't approve of it, would you accept it anyways.. now, if you don't believe in god, you won't believe in satan either so this question doesn't apply to you..

If it was possible for Satan to offer you something desireable, knowing that God wouldn't approve of it, would you accept it anyways.
JH good question. I am sure most would say, NO WAY! However, many do not realize that they HAVE accepted an offer from Satan. Satan offers people freedom and a sense of secure independence from God, just as he offered EVE in the garden. "You don't need God, you can think and do things for yourself." That is what Satan has to offer and sadly many take it. The twist here is, that many take it without realizing that God does not approve of it (saddened by it). Ask yourself JH, have you accepted that offer?
