did anyone notice that the ministry school was for the free labor back in the 60s.
we would work half a day in the fields each day and have school for a few hours later in the evening.
i had to be off work for a month to attend.. i still enjoyed the adventure and meeting some of the ones there.

I never new that. I guess nothing is for free not even manure.

I was just wondering just because the WTS have made a mess of things and have done things that are questionable. Is Jehovah still the name of God? Does he exist? Did Jesus really come to Earth and die for us? Should I stopped believeing some of the things that I have read in the Bible. The scriptures...not just in the NWT Bible, but in the other bible. I am really having a difficult time.
If you come here or go any place else and ask these questions and expect another human being to answer them for you, then you are repeating a foolish behavior and setting yourself up for another heart ache. The questions you ask are valid questions. This is the new millenium, the information age. Google some of these questions study and read the pros and cons. I dont believe there is a qucik fix to the reality your dealing with. As one human to another after experiencing the jw cult learn to think for yourself. You are the only one who has your interest at heart. To everyone else your just something or someone to use, to work their angle.

love our fellowman and we showed this "act of love" through our preaching.
I havent been a jw since 83. I dont remember having a contempt for worldly people. I felt that I probably had higher standards about certain things and I was concerned that they might adversely influence me. Now for the past 23 years the only people I deal with are so called "worldly people". I think I am somewhat of a loner. I deal with people for what I can get out of them, business relationships and my private life is just my wife and I and my grown up son and his wife. I dont know if the jws made me this way or this is just the way I am or if there is anything even wrong with the way I am. Most days this year I have been pretty happy. People at work say Im friendly and always have a smile on my face. For a long time now in my life I just do my thing and dont follow anybody. And I dont crave or want anybody.
i have a great neighbor who has always looked out for us and sent over very expensive pet food at no cost because she is in the business.. she has been a great neighbor all around for many years.
her daughter and my son are very good friends.. just this week she asked my son to take care of her pets.
he went surfing today and asked me to cover.. when i went over i was so alarmed, and came back so depressed i do not know what to do.. it is an 800 square foot house with 2 dogs, must be 8 fish tanks full of turtles, a cat,and a parrot sitting in a dusty cage in the dark.

Ask your doctor for some antidepressants, Paxil. If that doesnt help you may need some therapy.
Seriously life sucks and than you die. And for some animals and reptiles it sucks a lot and then they die. I dont know of anything you can do to improve things. If you end up getting some beauacratic officials involved, the animals may end up in a shelter and then be destroyed. Would that be better? And your relationship with your neighbor will be kaput. Maybe your relationship with her is kaput anyway based on what you have witnessed. Thats my two cents, and thats about all it is worth in this case. I wish there was a magic pill for you and the animals. Good luck.

well i just recently started looking up the origins of the society.
and i learned that the society originated with c. t. russel, but to do so he created a sect in his old religion... and we know what the bible says about sects, and he pretty much became a complete apostate and started teaching his own things.
so if he hadn't sinned in two respects the wtbts wouldn't exist.
didn't god forsee this problem when he said to stay away from sects?
God didn't forsee a lot of things. Or thats the way he planned it. I think thats why they call it the gospel= godspell. You drive yourself crazy trying to figure this mad book, the bible out. It cant be done. This is all pure entertainment.
going out in field service monday thru friday 9 till noon, knocking on empty doors while most people are away at work.
knowing no one will be at home.
why is there not a massive effort for evening witnessing when you know most people will be home and able to be reached.

my brief history is being raised as a witness, disfellowshiped for being a normal 17 year old, spending 10 years feeling guilty and thinking im going to die and so will my husband and son.
mother and father in it and always run out crying because they think they failed as parents cause none of their kids stayed in it.

okay, this is kind of an odd point, but bothers me.
in my time away from the witnesses, i have been involved in things like trade shows, athletic competitions and even some work related events.
in all cases, i am often surprised at how annoyed i get with people who can just not organize an event.
Life is a cluster fluck. When you realize that grab your but and hang on.
