  just watching some "twighlight zone" t.v shows from the 1960's - 1980's i realized how paranoid about nuclear holocust people were....evry second episode!...a showdown between the soviets and the west was coming soon.

  in 2010 china and the usa are economic best buddies, nuclear disbandanment is all the rage...and communism is dead.

  funny how enemies change.

  are still some dingbat Bushes in the wings. We even have Mexican Bushes in the wings.

  Jehovah Witnesses- True Christians?

  what do you say to people outside the religion that say jehovah witnesses are the only true christians and they are the only group that follow the bible as opposed to other reilgions?

  i see these comments on youtube about videos that addressed the issue with the policy jws follow today.

  i am not bitter but i thought if you think that jehovah witnesses are true christians and follow the bible, why not join the group?

  JW's are not Christians. The reason the religion/ faith is called Christian is Christians believe Jesus is God.

  Jehovahs witnesses dont believe Jesus is God. All the JW's will ever be are Jehovahs witnesses.

  Book of Enoch?

  i came across this a few weeks back while doing some online research http://www.sacred-texts.com/bib/boe/ (i hope that's how you post links) and i'm curious to know if any of you have done research into this book and what are your comments/thoughts on it?.

  i've read through the watchers and the adam and eve story, quite interesting opens up another angle of the whole "in the beginning".... how accurate is this book?

  why was it left out of the bible?

  I bought the book about a month ago. I haven't read it yet. Zechariah Sitchin Piqued my curiosity in it.

  His theory is we are decendents of the astronauts from planet Nibiru according to the Sumerian text.

  To me my dogs are my family, my children.

  I have 4 cockers that are getting up there.

  I would consider it a blessing from God if they would all go like your dog.

  I would hope they live to 20. But every day they are alive is a gift.

  just wanted to start this to get a pulse on how many young jw's are exiting percentage wise recently in the witness organization.

  in my family i have 8 young people aged 21 through 35 .

  these are my son and two daughters and my older siblings 5 adult children.

  I've been running 4 or 5 days a week for the past 2 months I run 1.5 miles in 15 minutes

  I've been training for a job promotion.

  I used to run 35 miles a week in my 30's. 7 miles 5 days.

  Then in my 40's I cut down to 2 miles a day 5 days.

  When I hit my 50's my chiropractor showed me my lower spine was fused together

  from all the pounding, I went to him in a lot of pain.

  For the past 7 years I mainly go to the gym and lift weights and maybe some elypitical machnes.

  But I want to take a test to be a deputy sheriiff in another county so now I am running

  5 days a week but its on a treadmill so far its not bothering my back.

  When I ran 35 miles a week, I weighed 170.

  When I ran 10 miles a week I weighed 180.

  When I stopped running at 50 and only lifting weights I went to 199.

  Part of the weight increase is due to age increase. I'd like to get back to 170.

  In school I ran track and cross country.

  I liked the hurdles and dashes but they had me do relays and distances also.

  i just spent a few days with my dad.

  i asked a few questions about the time when mum became a witness which i know is still, 38 years later, a painful thing for him to talk about.

  in the course of it, he also learned some stuff that he did not know about the pressures of the times.. as i expected, mum and dad have different versions of this time, and it is pretty hard to find the real truth in it and in some ways it does not matter anymore.. mums version: she first was contacted in echuca late 1960s and dad put a stop to it.

  I graduated in 71.

  In 1969 my family took an inheritence I got from my great grandfather and bought me a

  new Amc Javelin, because I wasnt going to need the money for college.

  I'm sure my grandfather rolled over in his grave when they did that.

  When I graduated in 71. I was looking into going to court reporting school but the

  brothers came out to the house and told my parents I would never get through

  school before the end would come and it would be a waste of time and money.

  So my father who was not a witness said "I'm not going to have a bumb around the

  house with no direction" and he threw me out on the street for my 19th birthday.

  So now I had the wonderful job/career of packing bags at the grocery store.

  Between my parents being wack jobs and my mothers religion being the wack job of

  all wack jobs I've had a very difficult miserable life.

  The pivitol turning point of all my misery goes back to my mother anwering the door

  to some salespeople who sold junky, trashy pulp religious fiction at a nickle a rag.

  Neither my brother, sister or myself got an education. We have all had mediocre jobs scraping to

  get by.

  My son who I sprung from the tower when he was 10. Has a bachelors degree in business and a nursing degree.

  And a world of choices and places and opportunities to work. My son was born in 74.

  After 76 I knew something was very wrong, but there was no internet it took me until 1983

  to escape the tentacles of the wactower society.

  Why would God stop man from building a tower that reached into the "heavens" and yet let modern man reach even further with a space station and moon landings?

  Man in the past was very advanced. The Indians were flying airplanes before

  Jesus. The Indians had cracked the atom. Before Jesus.

  Sodom and Gomorah was a nuclear explosion.

  These are all things I have read.

  Openheimer who led the US in developing the atomic bomb was a Sanscrit scholar.

  It is said that he got his information on making the atomic bomb from studying

  the indian text.

  Even when I was a JW back in the 50's and 60's I heard that man was very advanced

  before the flood.

  If your at all familiar with the bible. I mean if you have read it.

  Slave Species of God by Michael Tillinger will give you food for thought on

  many of the so called bible myths. Which may not be myths.

  I've been out of the tower since 83, When I left the tower I spent 10 years reading literature

  from the institute of creation science.

  This debate is about semantics the meaning of words.

  Every one here is not on the same page as to word meanings.

  Originally I didnt believe in Darwin but thats a big statement.

  Darwin showed that things adapt, which is a form of evolution.

  White butterflys turn black and black butterflies turn white based on the color of the tree

  bark.

  Actually one color survives and the other color gets eaten. Both colors were there the one

  that survives becomes more abundant.

  Darwinsm could be embraced by a young earther. It would explain how all the animals

  that were necessary could fit on Noahs ark.

  To me the cell does seem much to complex to not have an intelligent desinger.

  But I dont know how to explain light that has been traveling for millions of years with

  a 6000 year old earth and creation.

  Truth is where you find it.
