Have JW's and Christians been "duped" into believing Armaggeddon/Rapture?
by booker-t inmy friend wants no part of jw's or christians or any other religion for that matter.
she said that she wasted her life waiting for armaggeddon and then the rapture when she became born-again.
she said religious people are living in a "dream-world" waiting for something that is not going to come.

My First Earthquake and I Didn't Even Feel It
by Kenneson inthere was an 6.0 earthquake yesterday morning along the west coast of florida and you would know it i didn't even feel it.
it's really rather bizarre, as some people felt it and others didn't.
but, in a sense, i'm glad that it was nothing serious--at least no one was hurt and there was no damage.

Did You Cheat at the Written Review?
by south african beef induring the boring written review, did you really prepare and look up the answers beforehand, or did you just write anything down or did you copy the superdub sitting next to you?
personally i just wrote any old thing down and ticked it as right when they read out the answers.
however when i was growing up i had to get loads right or i would face questions from my mum!

I was at work and heard them talking about it on the radio. I said to my co workers, this is going to cost us all our jobs. And it did 1 year latter.

What musicians did JWs ban?

i remember throwing out all my beloved beatle albums because they did drugs.
elton john was bad because he was gay.

Some jw somewhere had something bad to say about all popular music. We were only supposed to go to meetings and go door to door. And rest up to restart the cycle.

What about you? Can you share what your frame of mind was like before and after
being involved with the organization?I think I suffered from depression when I was a witness.I think it was because everything and everybody was so negative. I think I still battle depression because there are so many things that remind me of what my association with the witnesses cost me that will never be recovered. I guess I have to do like everybody else and try to find the positive in things.

Did fear of dying
at Armageddon keep you in the organization longer?Fear of dying at Armageddon was used to keep me in the organization. Then 75 came and went and by 83 I decided it wasnt the troof. And never went back since 83

Do you allow yourself to be scared/threatened?
by KW13 inseptember 11th is obviously in all our minds now and probably (it is for me) at some point we think about it anyway.. do you allow the fear to get to you?.
personally i don't.
i feel for those that died and i think its horrible, but i won't allow myself to be scared or change how i do things.. .

I dont think about it. But you cant escape it. You just brought it up so I thought about it. My wife is watching some tv special on it in the other room I heard it when I walked thru the room. I dont find myself scared or threatend by it. Everybody owes 1 death.

If I see a JW I either avoid or ignore them. What do they have to offer me.
