What if we are really alone in the universe?
by zagor inhow would that make you feel if we were the only pleasant accident in inhospitable universe, if such 'miracle' newer happened elsewhere in our universe?
if there are no other alien civilizations that could rescue us or ?show us the way?
as some popular writers like to think.

Hello zagor, I see your only 32 you still have feelings. When you get older you will just get numb thats how it all feels. Its a process waking up to reality.

original sin and evolution creationists
by BlackSwan of Memphis inok i've been trying to understand this.... there are a good number of christians out there who most definitely believe that god used evolution as a means of creating us.
for instance, i am pretty sure that the catholic church accepts this idea.. if man came about by evolution, how does sin come into play?
at what point did man sin and how does the story of adam and eve fit into this picture?.

If the catholic church believes in evolution. Then you dont have to look to them for answers. You can see they are confused as they also believe in the bible which teaches creation. So for the big quesionsin life you dont have to go to the catholic church or the jws. I hope that narrows your search down for you.

I sit at a desk, and I could easily launch here on a monologue about my conclusions concerning our desk-bound culture and the increasing incidence of back problems as a result of tightened hip flexor muscle groups, but I won't. I'll just say that if we make it a point to frequently stretch like a cat does, fore and aft, we'll benefit from it.
So right you are, Nathan,

I think that young one is going down the wrong road.

Were "Theocratic Activities" A Burden To You???
by minimus inif you go to an assembly or convention, you are made to feel that everything is joyful, wonderful, "happifying", paradisaic, unified.
going to 5 meetings, never missing them, preparing for meetings and doing regular personal and family study and pioneering, if at all possible, raising your kids to be perfect little ministers, etc.......all these types of things are supposed to make you feel wonderful!

Is there a new round of Bethel layoffs or is it just the continuation .....
by troubled mind ini was just told that a young man from our area that has been at bethel for a couple of yrs.
he didn't work in the book making process either , he was a trained mechanic working on bethel vehicles.
i was just wondering if this is part of the original layoffs or if this is in addition to those ?
