It seems that what this article is saying to young couples, probably in love, is that if they do have sex before marriage then the whole marriage will be miserable and doomed to arguments and unhappiness. Instead, it is the WTBTS total brow beating, and guilt imposing that causes the REAL unhappiness.

When I was a kid in the 60s you could be different by growing your hair long like the beatles or the Stones. You could be different by playing music.Back in the 60's there were 3 tv stations in black and white. Now even basic cable has 57 channels with nothing on. Nowdays everythings been done. Tatoos are a way to express oneself. They are very permanet. In the 60's mainly jailbirds and bikers had tatoos. I saw a guy about 20 last week in the subway shop his whole head and face was tatood. I can only imaine he is on some kind of govenment disability or will be, mental. How will he ever find work. Maybe he owns a tatoo parlor. Nevermind.
i'm going away for work again this week, from tomorrow until friday, and i'm relying on you all to look after linda for me while i'm away.
it's the last trip of the year, thankfully, and neither of us are looking forward to it, though i think marion will be here for part of the time, so linda won't be totally alone.

right before i got disfellowshipped in 2002 i was sitting in the kingdom hall listening to an elder give a public needs talk.....and this one floored me.. so the brother starts talking about what it means to be a capable wife...of course all of the scriptures and regular bullshit we've heard over and over....but then he goes on to say...."so what i'm saying sisters is.... to save money to help with the household you can make a garden and get food from that to make your dinners.... you can learn how to sew so that you can make your own clothes instead of spending money to go and buy them at expensive department stores.... and you could look into your circumstances to see if its feasible for you to quit your jobs to stay home and run the household....blah blah blah.." i can't much remember the rest because my head had blown up to the size of jupiter with the hot steam i was about to let go in the middle of the talk.
i decided it was better to get up and go... and i did.
i only mention this now...because (now divorced from my ministerial servant husband of 10 years), i am a single mother that has worked her ass off not only in the secular world, but now as a mother raising two children, getting my college degree and maintaining every avenue of the household responsibilities on my own.

as a dub i didn't like the lack of cordiality, it was a society that was socially impenetrable and that made me feel unwanted, something that undermined my sense of self esteem.
The way to boost your self esteem is by carrying on positive self talk. You can get your self some positve affirmations and read them to yourself everyday until they become part of you. I got that from outside the organization. I have been out for 23 years. One positive of the organization for me is that it was a social organization in the 70's so you learned to interact with people which can help you with life in the world. i have a great neighbor who has always looked out for us and sent over very expensive pet food at no cost because she is in the business.. she has been a great neighbor all around for many years.
her daughter and my son are very good friends.. just this week she asked my son to take care of her pets.
he went surfing today and asked me to cover.. when i went over i was so alarmed, and came back so depressed i do not know what to do.. it is an 800 square foot house with 2 dogs, must be 8 fish tanks full of turtles, a cat,and a parrot sitting in a dusty cage in the dark.
Jagurbass, unless you know about animals, this is no situation for them, especially a parrot,... which I have had in my life. They love, sunlight, air, and being out of a cage. I cannot believe your response. apparently you have never had a pet. I do not need medication because of this situtation. MAYBE YOU DO!
Restrangled Im sorry I rattled your cage, I have 4 cocker spaniels and God bless you and anyone who looks out for the welfare of animals. Its just a tough situation that you described. You said the animals were healthy. My sister and law worked for the aspca here in Florida and after a certain amount of time if the animals arent adopted they get put down. And my sister said they put down a lot here. That was my concern, that when you intervened the animals end up in a shelter and get put down. I hope it works out for you and them.
