Spy vs SpyThe Watchtower Society's 007 Mentality
by The wanderer inspy vs spythe watchtower society's 007 mentality the organization was naturally a gossiping paradise.
to know everything about your business and personal life.
the most intrusive methods employed in the organization.. laying down your life for your brotherit was amazing to me that more often than not a talk .

This in my opinion was disturbing because it seemed
that individuals who were your brothers would not think
twice about turning you in for some perceived wrong-
doing. To me, this is the thing about religion everybody who tries to practice a religion from the bible is a hypocryte, for one the bible is a book of contradictions which will only lead to hypocracy and 2 because of the ying and yang of life.
People arent dying for thier brothers they are dying for the underlying principal, or the organization.
In Jw times I doubt any are dying for their brothers. Its just a thing to cause comaraderie in an organization like the military or a religious cult.

Guess who came around breakfast...
by ColdRedRain inyup.
jw's.
i told them to come over tomorrow.

Yup. JW's. I told them to come over tomorrow. What questions should I ask the elder? I've been so out of the JW loop that I don't know how to get them to answer my questions without them running away.
Why do you want to dance with the devil, play with fire? If you are strong what do you need from them? If you are weak do you think they or anybody else will help you? If you do, you are setting your self up to be exploited. If you want questions answered, maybe someone here or on the internet can answer your question and you can process the information more objectively, with out a litterature salesman playing on your emotions. Then I think this, if you invited them over and you dont even know what to ask them, couldnt you use your time better cleaning the hair out of your navel or playing with your super playstation? Cant you see when you say what questions should I ask the elder that you are playing the part of a sheep? They are shepards looking for a flock. Is that what you want? A wolf wouldnt ask, what should I ask them.
If the above doesnt make any sense to you and you are looking for a question to ask the elder, try this one: What flavor is the coolaid going to be? And when do I get my coolaid?

Would You/Do You Remain As A JW "Technically"???
by minimus intechnically, since i am not df'd or dissasociated, i am considered by witnesses as an inactive jw.
i do not actively look to get df'd as i have family that are witnesses.
if i were ever df'd, then i'd deal.

If I were ever df'd, then I'd deal. But I don't look to rattle up things just for the fun of it.....What about you??? If what you say is true, I am in the same boat because I havent been to the hall since 1981. Out of respect to my wife, who has family in the dark, I would not pursue being dissfelloshiped. Even if I wasnt considering my wife, I dont care enough about the watertower or the sheeple that reside there to pee on them or it, if it was or they was on fire.

Gotta get this out today.
by purplesofa ini don't know where to begin to say what is all bottled up inside me.
i may need to be on another forum, but i have come to respect the posts and input of so many here, and trust.....so it may be jumbled, and may take starting a few topics to fully get it out.. i have already posted about my youngest brother committing suicide.
i have another brother also.. my mother divorced my father i am guessing when i was five or six.

I am not settled with not having answers to two suicides and I will post that later. There is something very deadly in a family that has people that kill themselves to get relief from their problems.
I can tell you this from my work experience. I am a detention officer, I take care of inmates in jail. When one commits suicide 2 or 3 more follow or try to follow. What I am saying is that it is kind of mentally contagious. People copy others behaviors. So, I guess you are right about something deadly in a family with suicide. People that survive can do so without support or with support. If your brother needs support and he wants to survive, he will have to get it. Suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. If you are going to support him, he might still need professional help. Here in Florida the only thing a loved one or bystander can do to force one to get professional help is if they are acting in a way that would be injurious to themselves they call law enforcement and ask to have the person baker acted then that person is taken to a secure enviroment for 24 hours and observed. So I guess a person has got to want to live over the long hall. So the challenge to anybody who wants to keep another alive would be to convince them that life is worth while. Convince them that life is worthwhille in the long hall and encourage them to get help with their short term problems, or help them with their short term problems.
Good luck

In the year 2000 my mother was baptised a JW. I know for myself, before I was baptised, I wrote letters apologizing for past behaviour and did like a confession thing to have a clean conscience before God. I suppose not everyone does this.
This sounds like a step in the 12 step recovery program, thats a good thing. I dont remember the Jw's teaching that.
What I think about this is: anyone who is religious in a biblical sense ultimately is a hypocryte. No one can practice what they preach. If you dont want to be a hypocyte dont preach. But that is something that humans do to fill their time on this pleasure planet. So your mothers hobby is preaching and that upsets you. That is understandable. If your an adult at the end of your fourth decade on this planet and you want peace you probably have to just let your mother do her thing and not think about it. Maybe you have to disengae or get away from your mother. You cant change her and what she does bothers you. Its understandable that what she does bothers you, but you cant do anything about it. So your options for peace or serenity are accept it, change it, or flee.
Once a child is over 18 parenting is finished by many people. I dont know if thats right or wrong but it is what I have observed. Many people dont even get 18 years worth of parenting. Your mother is the way she is. She is an adult apparently at leat 60 years old. You cant control her.
When your mother tells your brother he has to get right with God. You could translate that to. "Your an adult you have a problem, deal with it. I'm living my life, now doing my thing. I'm 60+ years old and if I like knocking on doors disturbing the neighbors that's my business." Maybe shes also saying I dont have the answers for you. Dont rain on my parade.

The Warnings of the Diabolical things we were told about

thing strange and unusual when an individual received the "truth.".
on certain occasions you would hear about how a person was.

Do you think there is a possibility that such things as
evil supernatural forces exist?Have you known of anyone who may have experienced
any kind of paranormal or supernatural experience? What is your point of view regarding this issue?
I think there is a possibility that there are entities in othe dimensions. Also the workings of the mind are mysterious to us humans. We are very open to suggestion. A little of this and a little of that makes it difficult to know what is going on. I've known people who have had paranormal experiences. I am a corrections officer, the jail is full of them. I've watched them while they are talking to other entities that are invisible to me. Many of these people are diagnosed as schizophreniacs. So the way our society deals with many of these people is to medicate them. Maybe they are a conduit to another dimension.
What is my point of view. Better someone else have these experiences than I. I dont want anything to do with it, or them. I also know people outside of the jail who have paranormal experiences and entertain them even to the point of allegedly leaving their bodies and going into other dimensions. My hobbie is music and motorcycles, their hobbie is visiting the other side. Are they really going someplace or just having a trip inside their head? Maybe our brain is like a receiver.
Maybe the paranormal is the last frontier.

While I am not a JW. I think science is science and when they speak of the science of evolution, they are speaking of another religion. I have no faith that man can back date anything millions of years not even thousands of years. These scientist like the JW's are grasping at straws. They have a theory and they are trying to find facts and twist facts to support it. In my mind the earth is however old it is. I just dont have faith that men at this time have a way back machine that can measure millions of years in the past.

New here
by Chameleon inhello everyone.. i'm an "active" jw and have been for...13 years but my faith in the jw org died about 5 years ago.. so, i've been doing the jw thing for 5 years now without believing in it.
i might be an ms soon, unfortunately.. i tried telling my parents about it but they said apostates are good with twisting words and whatnot.. they wouldn't even let me show them evidence of wt hypocrisy; however, my mother did say she found it odd that every once in a while, there's that publisher resolution of donating a certain amount a year.
there might be hope for her yet.

Is there anyway anyone can deny all religion is nothing more than guesses?
by The Dragon insee it all the time...and children even talking about it!.
is there any evidence that can prove all religions are nothing more than other mens guesses into the intentions and plans of god?.
we cannot even discern each others intentions or thoughts...how can someone claim to know god's?
-
jaguarbass
I believe its all guesses. But some men say if you believe it you will see it. With that statement reality becomes a little cloudy. Once again, no one has convinced me they are doing anything more than guessing
