I think the world today is better than 1914 and much worse than 1965.
The 60's were better than today and yesterday.

in the old testament, can you think of any conceivable reason that an all knowing all powerful god might logically select one small desert tribe in the desert to be his "chosen" people, and leave all the other races of the world out?
isn't that a bit racist?
i mean, he did not choose chinese people, or african people, he specifically chose the jews, and at least as far as i've seen in the narrative, he pretty much lets them treat everyone else however they like.. .
God chose the Jews to record their history and to give to man the story and salvation of Jesus.
As far as I can tell there are black Jews and chinese Jews.
That is of course assuming that the narrative actually a factual recording of the will of an all powerful being, which I find quite a bit more than questionable.
last week the elder giving the public talk mentioned that in.
the usa we have 9.1% unemployment but under god's kingdom.
is a new house.
In my idea of paradise nobody works, everyone hangs out and has fun.
When that gets boring, you reincarnate and come back to earth or a place like earth and become a spirit in a material world.

i cried when i watched this.
the message: don't let another human's opinion ruin your life!
there is a prayer often recited by people in various types of recovery programs called the serenity prayer.
here the short version:.
god grant me the serenity .
Serenity for me is a one day at a time deal. I surrender my will to God and then sooner or later I take it back when I'm feeling better
then when feeling better leads to being upset, I have to surrender to God again.
I agree, I find more peace reading the bible, then reading the post here.
Reading the post here is an indulgence I give myself when I take my will back.
Back in the 80's and early 90's I went to AA for 7 years and 5 of those years was nirvana, heaven on earth.
But Nirvana takes work and I back slid and stopped going to meetings.
When things are going my way I'm pretty content and serene.
When things dont go my way, I say the serenity prayer, and the our father prayer.
Lifes a journey. Good luck
I play music, guitar, bass, drums, keyboards.
Jaguarbass is the name of a Fender bass guitar. Fender is the name of a company that makes guitars and ampliphiers.
even though i was raised a witness, i was never convinced that the end would be in 1975 or even in my lifetime..
I was raised a witness, Born in 52.
I was 23 in 75, So when I was 19, 20, 21, I felt very strongly that I wouldnt die.
After January 1 76, the light kept getting brighter and brighter that I would die.
i realize many on this forum are atheist, and theres many threads to show why.
some believe creationist lack knowledge or understanding and that we are too ignorant to realize there isn't a creator.. i have studied (not in depth) first year college science, and am studying medical/health currently.
i am also very interested in astronomy, and have learned a little in that area.
I have explored atheism, read most of Dawkins. I'm presently reading the blind watchmaker.
And I have read the bible cover to cover many times.
The bible says we are saved by faith.
I know what it feels like to have no God, and I know what it feels like to know God.
I prefer to dream about a future of eternal life with God, than an eternity with out God.
God seems to be the best deal in town So I might as well embrace it.
If there is no God it doesnt matter.

Its hard to believe someone could get to be 61 years old and not know that, if you point a gun at a cop your going to get shot.
What she did is called suicide by cop.
It was the husbands fault for calling the cops.
He got to be 61 years old and never read the paper or watched t.v.
yes apparently the staff at the twin towers on 9/11 didn't notice the explosives strapped to all the beams on each floor......of course a plane fully loaded with jet fuel going so fast it nearly flew through the building {blew out the otherside} would not be enough to cause a collapse.
the building were glowing red!
people jumped due to the heat and smoke.
