i don't remember this but it is a story that keeps being told in my family to this day. I was at the meeting with my mom and dad, i think my brother was just born. I was being bad, as usual, and dad asked me if i wanted to go outside. I must have not learned by then that "going outside" was a bad thing and I told him "YES" and of course got a spanking outside. The next meeting he didn't even ask me if I wanted to go outside, so while he was walking towards the door i was screaming "Jehovah, Help Me!!!!!" cause i knew i was getting a spanking.

Me and Mom were driving down the interstate and my lil' cousin was in the back seat. Mom passed by Dad's job and said "look M, that's where Uncle A goes to work". My cousin said with much enthusiam and awe, "Oh, Uncle A makes clouds?" My dad works at a plant and the smoke or whatever it is was coming out of the stacks.........LOL

Finally getting shunned...
by bluesbreaker59 inwell my family has been doing it for a while.
but i found it really strange, that i live in an area of town with many jw's and still go to all the normal places, and yet i'd not seen them... last week, walking around downtown, i spotted my "step -aunt", (step mom's side) and she put her head down, and wouldn't acknowledge me.
then i rode up the elevator with her today, same treatment, thought today she made eye contact.

Yes, it is a strange feeling.....my parents are active jws and at first they were going back and forth with whether or not to shun. They talk to me now and our relationship is better than ever. There is hope. The ones that continue to shun are so blind. On their death bed they might wish they had spoken to me when I called or tried to help out after my df'ing. They would rather talk with my ex-husband who has lived a "double life" for as long as I can remember and they know this. They all try to "help" him.

by Crumpet ini've read on and off here of various things that told people that god's spirit was not directing the organisation.. personally for me on the last time i got dfed it was the fact that i got reinstated by a meeting of the boe at the exact same moment i was smoking my first cigarettes in 7 months.
i didnt question it exactly but it did seem odd.
i mean i had no idea that they were discussing my reinstatement at that moment that i succumbed and had decided in my favour.

When I saw how things went down in the "back room". Totally disorganized and personal opinions being thrown everywhere. Them telling me that I should still stay with my husband (now ex) who was verbally and physically abusive because that's what Jah wanted. WHATEVER!!!! I was already on my way out but they gave me the shove I needed.

How Can I Order Court Documents?
by roflcopter ini am interested if at all possible in ordering the court documents showing the wtbts indeed settled out of court, and placed a gag order on the 14 victims in california.
are those documents considered public record?
if so can someone point me in the right direction?

Even if you are able to get a copy of any settlement release, the usual wording in those documents say something to the effect of "this agreement represents a compromise of doubtful and disputed claims for which the parties released have not in any way admitted liability". So even then, it would be hard to "prove" to your family that a wrongdoing was actually committed.

The "committee" is the biggest sack of perves. I initially went to them because my husband was basically having sex with the computer and it was making me crazy to the point that I wanted to leave. this was not our only issue, he stayed out all night and probably had girls on the side that I was unable to prove, (therefore no grounds for divorce) but had stong feelings that he was cheating on me. At this point he wasn't even going to the cong. meetings. He didn't want anything to do with me, we hadn't had intercourse for 365 days straight! So I went to them letting them know I was moving out. Well that started some crap. So both me and him had to go into the committee meetings and he is denying everything at first then he said he had gone to some porn sites. Well, they turn to me and asked if I was the reason he was going to the porn sites. Then to let me know that a husband needed to feel wanted by his wife.......etc.(then more BS from those appointed by Jah) I wanted to get up and punch each one of them in the face. Then my then husband says that he doesn't care what they say, he's going to do whatever he wants to and I can leave if I want to he could care less. I tell them about all the times he physically abused me and all the hateful things he did to me. Well he gets df'd and I get reproved. He, my husband, appeals the decision and keeps doing everything he was before "I dragged him into the meetings" and GUESS WHAT?!! Since he appealed and basically got lost in the system, He is now in good standing with the organization. CAN YOU BELIEVE?! Oh, and after I left, living by myself, I was sick one night and didn't go to the meeting, so, being the caring people they are the three from my Judicial Committee decided to knock on my door after the meeting (around 10:00 p.m.) and here I am in my night shirt and nothing else and they keep banging on the door. I wasn't about to open the door to three men while I was home alone and not dressed and sick on top of that. They had a fit about that because "they knew I was at home and I didn't answer the door". I'm so glad I left those crazy nutty people.
