A boy has been incarcerated since the age of 15 for a crime he did not commit. He is now over 33 years of age. The murderers have already confessed yet Efren remains in jail serving three life sentences. Please read about him on the first link and sign the digital petition on the second link.

It is critical that we help him. What happened to him can happen to any other child in this country that can't afford proper legal representation.

Please sign the petition as soon as you can. We have collected half of the signatures necessary to open this case for a retrial.

a few weeks ago i started a thread explaining that i wanted to read the entire bible for the first time.

i had been reading the kjv and i read revelation, john i, ii, ii and then i read john, matthew, mark, luke using the kjv in that order at someone's suggestion here.

i further took the suggestion of the poster and purchased an niv bible.

"Us" is a royal-plural form that is used several times in the Bible. Even in our time, when a monarch or head of state speaks on his own behalf - he refers to his state or kingdom as well. For example, Bush might say 'we will leave no child behind'. Prince Charles might say "let us work on behalf of AIDS victims in Africa". They always use the royal plural form. G-d also used this term when speaking of his creation. He was speaking on behalf of all his angels in the kingdom.

There isn't a single text in the Greek scriptures that hints at Jesus ever being a carpenter. The Jewish leaders of his time called him 'rabbi'. You don't get this title by building chairs all day long. Jesus was a Jew who probably spent more time at the temple than anywhere else. The Greek scriptures give plenty of evidence about this.

it seems as if the jw religion in general has much contempt for israel.

correctly me if i'm wrong, but,...in short, the jw religion thinks they have become israel,...."spiritual israel", anyways.

or, in other words, the blessings and promises for israel have been transfered to the wts and it's faithful members.. which brings up an interesting question.

I enjoyed reading your article and wrote a couple of articles on similar subjects on my blog at http://www.noahide.typepad.com/ I also agree with your point that G-d's promise to the Jews has been and will be fulfilled for all eternity. However, unlike JWs who feel that ONLY they will survive their vision of G-d's judgement, the REAL Bible as shown in the Hebrew Scriptures (The Torah/Tanakh) reveals that there is hope for everyone.

Great article. The link you provided answered some questions that have been with me for months. I recently went to a synagogue (more interesting than a KH) and noticed that the rabbi gave me an odd look when he realized I was named after my father. Turns out it has to do with the angel of death. This also explained a 'dream' I had once where I saw something in my room and it was scary as hell.

The GB and Field Service Activity

i was thinking... does the members of the governing body participate in field service?

if these are men who are to take their place in heaven with jesus christ, then shouldn't they be the ones fearlessly leading the charge?

when jesus was here on earth, his disciples went on to preach about him long after jesus had died.

I would like to have the GB followed by a P.I. to see where they go during their spare time. I find it hard to believe that they only travel back and forth to their local KH. With so many MILLIONS of unaccounted dollars at their disposal...

One thing many people have forgotten is that G-d NEVER turns back on his covenants with humans. Therefore, whatever commandments he set forth in the Hebrew scriptures are binding for eternity. If G-d says "...for all your generations" what does that mean to you? No man can overturn a decree by G-d. Jesus himself showed support for the Pharisees and this can be seen in ANY version of the Bible, even the WTS version. Jesus may have had differences with their implementation of the Law (he saw them as harsh and uncompromising), but Jesus NEVER SAID THE LAW WILL BE ABOLISHED.

JWs can easily undo their brainwashing they've been put through BY JUST OPENING A PROPER TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE AND READING IT. When I speak of the Bible, I MEAN THE HEBREW SCRIPTURES. The Greek scriptures are full of contradictions and empty philosophy. Read the articles on my blog for more info.

I find it very strange that the WTS wants their men to follow the example of Jesus who was never married. Not to mention that the GB members are also not married. Jesus was never the head of the congregation because he was dead before one ever formed. At no time in the Bible does Jesus ever show what an example of a husband should be. He practically shunned his mother and he didn't show any care for any woman in particular. So where is this example that the WTS keeps talking about. As it is, doesn't the WTS DISCOURAGE having children in this world? What kind of example is that?
