"All of Israel will be saved" vs JW salvation
by *jeremiah* init seems as if the jw religion in general has much contempt for israel.
correctly me if i'm wrong, but,...in short, the jw religion thinks they have become israel,...."spiritual israel", anyways.
or, in other words, the blessings and promises for israel have been transfered to the wts and it's faithful members.. which brings up an interesting question.

Jeremiah:
I enjoyed reading your article and wrote a couple of articles on similar subjects on my blog at http://www.noahide.typepad.com/ I also agree with your point that G-d's promise to the Jews has been and will be fulfilled for all eternity. However, unlike JWs who feel that ONLY they will survive their vision of G-d's judgement, the REAL Bible as shown in the Hebrew Scriptures (The Torah/Tanakh) reveals that there is hope for everyone.

144,000 Pebbles
by jgnat ini'm marking my jw hubby's study yet again, and i just have to vent.
144,000 white pebbles?
the wtbts again jams revelation 14:1, like a bad puzzle piece, in to every promise that came out of the mouth of god.

Great article. The link you provided answered some questions that have been with me for months. I recently went to a synagogue (more interesting than a KH) and noticed that the rabbi gave me an odd look when he realized I was named after my father. Turns out it has to do with the angel of death. This also explained a 'dream' I had once where I saw something in my room and it was scary as hell.
Thanks!

The GB and Field Service Activity
by karnage ini was thinking... does the members of the governing body participate in field service?
if these are men who are to take their place in heaven with jesus christ, then shouldn't they be the ones fearlessly leading the charge?
when jesus was here on earth, his disciples went on to preach about him long after jesus had died.

I would like to have the GB followed by a P.I. to see where they go during their spare time. I find it hard to believe that they only travel back and forth to their local KH. With so many MILLIONS of unaccounted dollars at their disposal...

wow, what a response!
by Matt_fs ini simply asked a friend of mine to explain to me deut 20:20-22 and he wrote this:.
"its really quite simple what i think about deut.18:20-22. i don't.
the hebrew scriptures describing aspects of the original law convenent ended when the new convenent came into place by means of christ's death.

I have a couple of articles on this subject at www.noahide.typepad.com
One thing many people have forgotten is that G-d NEVER turns back on his covenants with humans. Therefore, whatever commandments he set forth in the Hebrew scriptures are binding for eternity. If G-d says "...for all your generations" what does that mean to you? No man can overturn a decree by G-d. Jesus himself showed support for the Pharisees and this can be seen in ANY version of the Bible, even the WTS version. Jesus may have had differences with their implementation of the Law (he saw them as harsh and uncompromising), but Jesus NEVER SAID THE LAW WILL BE ABOLISHED.
JWs can easily undo their brainwashing they've been put through BY JUST OPENING A PROPER TRANSLATION OF THE BIBLE AND READING IT. When I speak of the Bible, I MEAN THE HEBREW SCRIPTURES. The Greek scriptures are full of contradictions and empty philosophy. Read the articles on my blog for more info.
Thanks for posting.

Comments You Will Not Hear at the 3-25-07 WT Study (Husband Headship)
by blondie in(1 peter 3:7) you husbands, continue dwelling in like manner with them according to knowledge, assigning them honor as to a weaker vessel, the feminine one, since you are also heirs with them of the undeserved favor of life, in order for your prayers not to be hindered.. .

I find it very strange that the WTS wants their men to follow the example of Jesus who was never married. Not to mention that the GB members are also not married. Jesus was never the head of the congregation because he was dead before one ever formed. At no time in the Bible does Jesus ever show what an example of a husband should be. He practically shunned his mother and he didn't show any care for any woman in particular. So where is this example that the WTS keeps talking about. As it is, doesn't the WTS DISCOURAGE having children in this world? What kind of example is that?

Is reincarnation a Bible Theme?
by Gill inthe character of jesus christ, was a reincarnated character in that he had to be reborn as another creature in the true sense of reincarnation.. john the baptist was spoken of as elijah come again.. when jesus had to deal with the disabled young man, he asked who had sinned, the parents of the baby.
presumably the child had sinned in a former life.. so, do you also think that reincarnation is a theme that is often missed in the bible?.

Job said that G-d will raise a man from 'the pit' three times if He sees fit to do so.

Matthew 28:19, 20 "Go therefore ... baptizing them ..."
by AuldSoul injehovah's witnesses teach that matthew 28:19, 20 is a requirement of god for every christian, a command from christ to his followers.
every one of jehovah's witnesses is required to proselytize in order to be considered an active and regular jehovah's witness.. however, these verses also say that the teachers must baptize.
jehovah's witnesses only consider baptisms by organizationally authorized persons to be valid, and only after a person desiring baptism meets the requirements of an unscriptural criteria.. how is it contextually possible that jesus intended the teaching to be carried by individuals and the baptizing to be performed organizationally?

If Jesus wanted people baptized, it didn't mean being indoctrinated into a new religion. It meant cleansing yourself of your sins just like Jews did during their ritual mikva baths. The JWs interpret this is baptizing people into a religion (theirs). This has nothing to do with repentance.

Jehovah's Rocking the Nations?
by 5thGeneration inhow long can the society keep insisting that the preaching work is so successful when there is virtually zero (alright 1.5%) growth?.
interestingly, the society has excluded the percent gain/loss column online.

Do you believe in God? oR Jesus?
by themonster123 inso....do any of you believe in some person in the sky floating around called jesus?
or having a relationship with that person (or god) who is in some other dimension apparantly?
being a witness, they stressed so much having a relationship with "jehovah" and all that.

I wrote a couple of articles on the subject at my blog: www.noahide.typepad.com
Feel free to check it out. I welcome all comments on the matter. I do not believe in Jesus as the Messiah. He was a Jew who apparently thought very highly of himself but didn't live up to any of the messianic prophecies. He was probably married with child when he died? How do I know? That's simple. To be a rabbi in those times, you had to be married with children. Even in the JW Bible, some of the Pharisees call Jesus "Rabbi". Even some of his own followers referred to him with that title. You can't use that title unless everyone else in authority at that time recognized you as such.
