  How long did take to feel comfortable in a church?

  Impossible Situation?Of Course it did not work!

  so i agreed to have a look at all this jw stuff just to save our relationship and after all that iam still not good enough!

  well iam sure this is not a surprise to all you wise people here but i still dont understand....i never did think love conquered all...but ....he feels that as he is having doubts it must be wrong..i asked him what was more important-what i believed in or who i really was as a person?

  he said i just dont understand...of course it was most important what i believed in and he cannot see himself living his life with anyone who is not fully in the truth!

  Sorry, I feel your hurt, this is not fair.

  I was married 17 years when I left the JW's and my wife had a fit, she left me for awhile. She demanded that I either went back your she would never come back. I told her stay the HELL gone I was not going to ever go back. She finally came home and read my "Blood letter" proving the B.S. of the JW's stand on blood from the bible. She read all the information about the NGO's and the Society's response. etc... She could see I was right and she quit and is a full blown ex-JW.

  It worked out for me but only because I would not cave into her demands of getting back in the BORG.

  I hope you can move froward, just know there a people like me that do feel your pain.

  now that you're out of "the truth", are you back to your old ways??

  I am a better person, I am involved with helping my community people in my town like me now. My wife is President of local united organized organization in our area.{This group brings all groups like the local Chambers of Commerces and committees like parks and recreations etc... together under one united direction}

  I like the fact I am not juggmental and my time is spent with my family that is still young and we do things together now not draging their asses to the Hall.

  Much better person, I like who I am.

  Islam bashed by Witnesses

  i was listening to talk radio the other day and they were discussing the muslims who were taken off an american airlines flight (i believe that was the airline) because they were praying publicly prior to the flight.

  one of the individuals, an imam, who was on the flight was being interviewed and in the defense of what he called "moderate islam" proclaimed there is a movement against islam, and specifically mentioned jehovah's witnesses handing out a flyer where they directly misquote the koran to implicate all muslims in 9/11.

  is this in the new "the end of false religion is near" tract?

  Many of the Leaders of the BORG are now leaning strongly that the whole Muslin world is now the King of the North replacing Russia. I listened to a talk by one of the Governing body I believe it was Daniel Sydlik but not for sure where he said the Society is watching with great interest as to whom the King will be, then he said right now they are thinking that the combined Muslim World is becoming more and more aggressive and they were watching with great exspectation to see if they are now that King.

  I was listening to the tape with my mom and dad, mom was thrilled, dad and I could not believe what we were hearing. Muslim's King of the North? B.S. we told mom, but as usual the Governing Body member said it so she looks at every Magazine with expectation of seeing it in print.

  Do you remember giving talks?

  i'm trying to remember the process for giving a talk.

  i remember getting a slip with a topic on it, but what else was on that slip?

  did it tell you what scriptures you should cite, or what book the talk was based on?

  I use to give at least one part a week I could give a talk without even looking at the information before arriving at the hall. I had the gift and everyone loved my talks. If someone was not there I substituted This was a matter of pride for me because my dad was the worst speaker and put everyone to sleep. I loved hour talks they were the funnest and always got to eat out for nothing after the meeting. I miss giving talk but nothing else.

  No I was hoping someone here had copied on of the articles. The Society announced the change to the worlds press long before they told the Congregation at the Assembly that summer. I knew about it from a News paper article and told many about the change. I was almost tarred and feathered because of this. Then at the summer Assembly it was announced and I got my told of so. I had all the information at one time but some one came in to my house while I was out and took all information about the local congregation Elder body dealing I had a journal and information I was compiling about the BORG. My wife did not take it so I am sure the BORG ELDERS took it.

  Last night when I mentioned this change to a BORG member he said prove it but it had not better come from an apostate site. I had all that information and it pisses me off someone stole it.

  The Science of Belief

  time and again the refrain is heard that belief and science are mutually exclusive, that belief somehow corrupts good science, that belief is not empirical.

  i'd like to throw another slant on that, if i may.. belief is an inherent part of the human psyche.

  the desire to know more about our environment and how it all works is also an inherent part of our psyche.

  Belief is fine to the Believer but is foolish to the non believer. Exsample the Dooms Day Cult that thought the Aliens were going to take them up in a ship with the arival of a comet. Two people that were part of this Cult were interviewed on a News program. They were brain washed so completely even at the time of the interview, Both was ashamed they did not have the faith to die with the others that day. The interviewer asked why? The man ex-cult member said becasue of all the proof they were correct is why.

  Faith trumps proof everytime.
