What the hell? They are okay with your DF'd sis and non-dub partner but won't meet or sit with yours?? What is UP with that? Have you pointed out to your Mother the incredible and obvious double-standard she is promoting here?
Cheers to you... sorry you're going through this.

would prove to be an advantage or a disadvantage.
dating a former jehovah's witness.. advantage or disadvantage?

We humans are broken crockery, all. We as individuals searching just need to find someone whose broken pieces fit well with our own, and then caulk the heck out of the cracks to make one relatively functioning vessel.
Yes, exDubs have things to work out... but doesn't everyone. I found my gorgeous broken crock before I found the forum, and I'm pretty danged happy with our caulk job.
The only concern I would have with an exDub is if they still feel that WTBTS is the chosen tribe of Israel, somehow. Ouch, I just made my own head hurt. Lots of walk-aways who still call it the TEEruth. -

Anyone else do this in the morning?
by free2beme ini get up each morning and turn on the news, right as i get out of bed.
not because i want some news to start the day, but rather this is often been a major moment in my life.
i remember turning it on one morning and hearing about the first trade tower bombing, turning it on and hearing about the oklahoma city bombing, turning it on and seeing the trade towers burning (well, one of them, i watched the second plane hit live).

I cannot stomach the news at any time of the day, much less the first thing in the morning.
From time to time I check the Google News page... and there, at least I can read the same headline from newspapers all over the world to get a more balanced view of what the hell is happening.
News media is so slanted and sensationalized, (even CNN is sounding like FOX these days) who can listen to that? -

While you're at it, better do a bit of research on the history of the bible itself, (FASCINATING and earth-shaking, really,) and pick up some of the latter revealed texts that were voted out of "the bible" by the early Catholic church... such as the Gnostic texts and the Apocrypha... Dead Sea Scrolls, etc....
Have fun turning over new soil! -

Let's all pat ourselves on the back
by PopeOfEruke inin the spirit of the retiring government cattle inspector who said when receiving a meritorious service award "this is not the the first time i've had a pat on the back", i think all of us here deserve to give ourselves a big pat on the back!!!.
we have survived being trapped in a high-control organisation, we've been brainwashed, sat through meetings, been hypnotized (almost), and we managed to escape relatively intact.
most of us have almost full use of all our mental facilites.

I whole-heartedly concur, Dear Pope... we freakin' ROCK... do we not?

Blood Transfusion Question - Dogs
by Duncan indear everyone,.
there was a very interesting item on this morning's bbc breakfast news programme - to do with blood transfusions for dogs.
a new website has been set up, along with an appeal to owners to type and register their pets as potential donors, should the need arise.
