I once while standing in the KH I had a MS tell me that me wearing heart shaped barretts in my hair to the KH was like "carrying a loaded gun into (his) house."
What tha??????
Please. There had never been any directive on it, he just got a bee in his control-issues-are-out-of-control bonnet. Give me a break.
The fleur de lis IS for French royalty, not sure about the trinity, but to hell with 'em. Thank the gods these people don't even TRY to dish this crap out at me anymore.

FLUER DE LIS WALLPAPER = TRINITY VISITING CO SUGGESTS IT MUST GO
by ZazuWitts ini can count on one hand the number of times i have spoken to larc's sister since his death last fall... she will briefly chat if i make the effort to phone her - but doesn't call me.
yesterday, i did phone her - to tell of her of some family news that i felt she should know.
she told me they had spent the labor day removing wallpaper, that was already in the home when they moved in.

Maybe Interesting Blood News
by truth.ceeker ini had a meeting with my heart surgeon yesterday, and after informing him of our faith, my wife still holding onto to parts of the organization, the dr. said that, "there is a new form that just came out last year from your mother church in new york.
" what this document does is (1) make it clear that the person is not allowing blood to be used, (2) makes it clear that the dr. will have a court order ready in case blood is deemed medically necessary to sustain life and (3) absolves the person's conscience of any guilt if it came down to it.
i'm not sure if this document has been discussed before, but i thought that it was a bit intriguing.

My sisters
by iamfreenow ini have two sisters, angela, who is 17 months younger than me, and who has been baptised since she was 16, and jean, who is 55, and has never been a jehovahs witness.
i have always got on very well with both of them, but now i am no longer a jw, i really wondered how angela would react.
it's not that she has ever been an over - zealous jw.

Dearest IamFreeNow Marion...
What a Dearheart you are! My gods... your story brought tears to my eyes. You give me such hope. Isn't it funny that we used to have hope to bring people into the (t)ruth, and now we have hope and get excited when someone claws their way out?
Oh, Marion, I am so happy you are here. I, too, as others have said, feel as if I know you. I guess, in some ways, we all do know each other, in ways that folks who have not been in the org cannot truly understand. Thank you for being here.

A Question about the Shunning Policy
by The wanderer inin either the early or middle 1990's, there was a watchtower article.
that spoke about not having association with any family members .
who were either disfellowshiped or disassociated living outside of.

I have always considered my leaving the org as completely ironic, as I left because I disagreed completely with the whole shunning thing. In disagreeing completely, I had to get away from the org that would practice it, thereby exposing myself to the exact same treatment I was protesting.
Moshe's comment about it being human nature at its worst reminds me of Lord of the Flies! I have never thought of that before, but the whole primal, tribal, exclusion to the point of death thing is chilling. -

I'd appreciate some insight on what my mother claims was said at assembly
by free2beme inokay, well my mother called this evening and was all emotional about her one day assembly.
i was shocked she brought it up, as we just do not mention the religion anymore, but lately little things keep getting said at her conventions and assemblies that seem to be making this line something she wants to cross more these days.
what she brought up, was something i had not heard mentioned on here and i wanted some insight from people who actually heard it or knew more about it.

I'm confused, didn't they always charge publishers for literature? I remember having to pay a small amount for anything we were going to attempt to "place" with "householders".
Has it been different now that they don't ask for a specific charge for the mags etc.? -

My thought is that this may have something to do with another new post... a completely unexpected letter from an old friend in the habit of shunning!

Possible correlation?
It is indeed possible that they have shifted their focus. Other recent threads have indicated how little "fruitage" comes from the door to door stuff and their numbers are FALLING in "Google" countries!!!! Interesting.
Man, I hope my loved ones don't hit me with this stuff. -

by nsrn ini'm musing over a letter i received in the mail, from by childhood best friend.
it's a brief newsy letter asking about my parents, recalling some fun times, and recounting her happy 23 years of pioneering.

Holy moly, HOLD ON... I see a possible correlation between this thread and another just posted???

What do you think? Perhaps their focus IS on retrieving those of us who know better? Gods, I hope not... I don't want to have to face that from my beloveds... -

My gods. I would have done the same thing when I was fifteen.
Let's just hope that if she is strong enough to go through a court battle, she is strong enough to survive this thing long enough to get a clue and save herself... emotionally, spiritually, AND physically.
