hi everyone, i have been lurking for a very long time and have been pretty much blown away and sickened by what i have learned on this discussion forum (this is actually the first forum i had ever visted).

i am married to man who was not a jw when i met him (although he was raised as one from his early teens but left when he was in his 20's, oh and that was when he started attending college), to make a long story short we met, fell in love, got married, had a few children and then 20 yrs later he started attending the "meetings" or better yet "the indoctrination sessions" again, which btw he did not tell me that that was what he was doing!!

shortly thereafter i began noticing changes in his personality, and it wasn't for the better.

I did a bad job of explaining the situation.......the father and my SIL were never married, they lived together for about 18 months.......so now you know why they are DF'ing her. The baby is pretty much evidence of forny.

The issue of course is that she hasn't had anything to do with the Borg for years and yet they are now pursuing her for DF'ing. I realize it is not un-common to be DF'd but geesh, she wan't bothering anyone, the parents still went to all of the meetings and out in service she had no effect on their faith and had no intentions of doing so. Under the unique situation, you'd think they would leave her alone.

Contacting the press has crossed my mind, it will cause problems for the parents so that is my only hesitation.

It is truly discusting they're total disregard for the family unit. My sister in law hasn't been to a KH in over 3 years, she got pregnant and recently had a baby. The father showed signs of mental instability and she feared him being around the baby except for brief visits so she chose to move back in with her parents to have them help her with the baby (and financially). The elders found out about it and they are DF'ing her Wednesday night and have instructed the parents that she must move out. We have no room for her and can't babysit for her while she works, not sure what the outcome of this will be but it's gonna get ugly.

She wan't hurting anybody or anything living there, they know they are causing her great hardships and putting the parents in a very uncomfortable position. I know, I know, they are doing her a favor so that she will come back to Jehovah (that'll never happen).

i think the school works differently now, but when i was a kid, a #2 talk was 5 minutes and i would give it in about 3 minutes...why did the meeting still end at 9:15!

ps.........do you remember when those tms meeting were 2 hours??????

It used to piss me off big time when the WT conductor went overtime........he was cutting into MY time.

I mean come on, the Public Talk would end on time, even early sometimes, the WT conductor would then go 60-65 minutes and past the scheduled time, sometimes 10-15 minutes.

BASTARD!!!!!

i have really felt lost lately.

trying to bring a lot of in out in marriage therapy....four sessions already...pretty painful.

i actually must have bought into the big hopes and dreams and all....cause now that i don't believe it anymore....i just dont have a clue anymore about life and where i am heading.

Ooompa, you and I need to do a trip to Alaska next year on the bikes.....nothing will ground you and bring a sense of calm like the Alaska Highway thru Canada and into Alaska. The scenery is awe inspiring starting on the Icefiled Parkway which starts west of Calgary all the way to Prudhoe Bay inside the Arctic Circle in Alaska. This ride is like a mental reset button, gets your priorities re-shuffled......whadda ya think, can you spare a month!!!

Brothers that were too "touchy feely" with Sisiters - did you have one?

there's a married brother in our hall {servant} who always hugs and kisses the younger sisiters in the hall....one time i turned around after we walked away from him and he was checking out my wife's butt!

at the bookstudy, he sqeezed himself on the couch next to a sisiter and she jumped up and moved seats {poor thing} did you have a sleaze bag brother in your cong.

Actually I knew 2, one in my congregation and one in my future wife's.

The one (he was an elder) in my wife's was especially bad, while we were dating he would ask her leading questions as to what we were doing and where we were going when we were dating. He would put his hands on any sister that would let him get away with it. The hair stands up on the back of my neck when I think about him, he was so slimey.

To this day, as I understand he is still an elder in good standing.
