I have this issue at work. I have wireless right now and it's slow so I'm on here and I don't want anybody to think I'm a DUB! LOL!
It's pretty funny actually....

JWD at work/school
by Mysterious inthose of you that go on at work or school you ever feel that old fear you will get found out a jw..you know that people will see you on the site and assume you are one when you aren't?
though in my case that would be rather amusing..i am far from conservatively dressed and it would make an interesting witness tee hee.

Finally told the family
by unique1 inwhile at the great corporate monster we call walley world, i ran into my uncle and aunt.
all of my family with the exception of my parents are not and have never been in the truth.
because of this i never really saw them much growing up.

Saw My Mother!!!
by RichieRich ini was on my way home today, and i passed my mother on the road.
tears came to my eyes immediately, just at the sight of her face.. i hate this religion.. but i love my mom.. i can't even remember, when the last time we spoke was.. i just want to sit down and talk to her, but i can't- i won't- because its her fault.
i left a religion, she left her son.

(((Richie)))
I know what you mean.
I too can't believe how much my memories of my mom can cause such sadness. Did you ever acknowledge her message she left you the other day?
hang in there Richie.

In my hometown
by sass_my_frass inso a few months ago i got the 'you're disowned' email from my parents, and i thought that it was all over for any kind of ongoing relationship with them.
i'd planned this visit to see them (i live on the east coast of australia, they're a five-hour flight away), but a few months ago they told me they won't see me when i'm here.
i have non-jw family and friends here though who i love a lot, and i have spent some nice times with them, and shown mr frass around my old haunts.

****I'm trying to convince myself that it's important to retain a relationship with them, but can't think of many reasons why - none that are good for us anyway. ****
I think you may have answered your own question about how to handle this situation. It really sounds like you've tried everything you could. You'll know when and if you need to cut off their communication with you.

My Story
by ladybug25 inmy parents were baptized when i was three years old.
so, you could say that i was "born and raised" as a jw.
i was baptized at age 11. i was a regular auxilary pioneer from age 14 to 15. my parents became inactive at about age 14. it was very hard trying to be a "good young sister" especially after being told you're a burden to the pioneers that have to always provide rides in service and to/from the meetings.

Welcome Ladybug!!
I have hope for your husband yet! Just a suggestion- but I was fearful of looking at apostate websites also when I started having doubts. I found a book at the library called "Toxic Faith" and it was something I felt *safe* reading. It opened my eyes tremendously and started me on the journey of breaking free of the mental chains that the WTS had on me.
Maybe you should get it and leave it laying around in plain sight....

Narkissos you are missed!
by slimboyfat inseriously, where have you gone man?
i don't like what the mods do either sometimes, but just ignore it and try to keep your head down.
for what it is worth i read your review post about the book before it was deleted - and it prompted me, despite my prior reservations, to buy the book.

WOO HOO!

I must have missed the *scandalous* thread but......
yeah. Narkissos is one of the best things around this board.
I hope he comes back too.
