  Gotta get this out today.

  i don't know where to begin to say what is all bottled up inside me.

  i may need to be on another forum, but i have come to respect the posts and input of so many here, and trust.....so it may be jumbled, and may take starting a few topics to fully get it out.. i have already posted about my youngest brother committing suicide.

  i have another brother also.. my mother divorced my father i am guessing when i was five or six.

  When you need a shoulder to cry on, please come to the forum. Very sad, touching story. You had previously asked about encouraging your mother to stop pioneering and deal with this. It sounds like pioneering is her choice to avoid dealing. Be supportive of the rest of the family and be ready for mom to really have a breakdown.

  If you cannot handle all the drama, then don't try to. Just say you are there to listen, not able to solve all their problems.

  Find some peace, a way to relax. Consider a vacation or a weekend getaway.

  hey all, i've been reading this sight for a year now and have never posted.the last topic sparked my "need" to do so.i got a girl pregnant 13 yrs.

  ago that i really didn't know that well.

  she turned out to be a "non-practicing j.w", according to her, until she became pregnant and realized that i was not going to marry her....i knew her for about a week.

  Probably best to follow a counselor's advice, but if you want more than that-

  Have him talk to your religious leader if you have one. I would say you can
  teach him the good about holidays and birthdays. You might tell him why you
  don't agree with JW's- not deep doctrine but stuff about God destroying all the
  good people all around the world who are not Witnesses, yet never heard of
  Jehovah, he'll destroy Dad, and his siblings, too, according to them.

  A boy likes to emulate his father, so just saying that you think JW's
  are wrong, he is likely to decide that he will agree with you.

  Tell him enough that it will be hard for JW's to satisfy all his questions.
  You might need to de-program him after each visit, unfortunately. Ask
  him if there are new questions.

  The extreme measure is to get legal advice. Some have gotten religious
  custody and the right to keep the other parent's religion out of the life of
  children. Sounds like you don't need that, but don't rule it out.

  JW's and Girlscout cookies

  my jw roommate and i were watching boston legal the other night and one case was about someone being fired for their religious beliefs.

  when one of the lawyers was talking to the jury, he mentioned many religions and the odd, quirky things about them.

  he did mention that if you were a jehovah's witness you couldn't buy girl scout cookies.

  A UFO hovered like a cloud over the temple, making them think YHWH was present.

  The transfiguration was alien contact.

  The three wise men probably followed a UFO to Bethlehem, since stars do not
  move or abruptly stop in the manner the bible describes.

  Jesus' resurrection occured when he was beamed up from Earth by a flying saucer.

  The bright cloud that led the people of Israel through the Red Sea, parting the waters
  and then engulfing the Egyptions, was a UFO.

  It was space beings who spoke to Moses from the middle of a glowing thicket.

  it seems that growth just slows and slows.

  i go to a spanish congregation and i hear the english bros always say how there is no growth any more.

  most likely by lowering the hour requirement to be an active publisher

  They actually did that, don't laugh. There is a little known method where older JW's can count parts of an hour each month and stay active preachers. That would put them back into the total numbers. They just report 15 minutes or so each month.
  WOW, I never thought of it as a way to bolster negative numbers. I was certain that the current Kingdom News #37 was a way to get inactive publishers out again.

  hello everyone.. i'm an "active" jw and have been for...13 years but my faith in the jw org died about 5 years ago.. so, i've been doing the jw thing for 5 years now without believing in it.

  i might be an ms soon, unfortunately.. i tried telling my parents about it but they said apostates are good with twisting words and whatnot.. they wouldn't even let me show them evidence of wt hypocrisy; however, my mother did say she found it odd that every once in a while, there's that publisher resolution of donating a certain amount a year.

  there might be hope for her yet.

  Since they won't say one way or the other, you will have to read all about their UN fiasco. Many opinions have been posted here, also.

  It is mine that they joined the UN so that they could look more mainstream to nations as they preached more and more to remote areas of the world. They hoped to have UN support if a vote came up in some countries as to them staying or getting out. Without knowing they were an NGO UN member, I did notice many articles in Awake! which never condemned the UN, but mentioned the UN efforts worldwide with health issues, children issues, relief efforts.

  It is the opinion of the UN and people here that they did not need to be a member to access any information. Because they have always maintained that it is important to stay out of the world and it's politics, once caught red-handed, they acted like any child under 8 years old.
  "I didn't do anything wrong. I was only there because..."

  Most JW's (in the U.S. anyway) have no idea about this fiasco.

  Addressing just the privileges thing:

  If a person just stops going out in service for 6 months, he is INACTIVE, regardless of meeting attendance.

  The person who loses the privilege to comment- He must have met with a judicial committee for some
  thing they consider a "sin." He must have been repentent and now is on restrictions.

  Restrictions can never be held indefinitely, but he would have to ask for commenting privilege back. All
  JW's can still talk to him, most would not even know he is on restrictions- or forgot about it.
