I don't know you from the past, because I joined this summer, but I hope
you work it all out. After the dust settles, most libraries have free internet.
I'm not just saying that for JWD, but for whatever your needs are, I hope you
find them.

No offense taken, feel free to ask or joke or comment.
Back to the original question, now.

Again, tell them you are scripturally free to remarry, tell them you know what it means, tell them the disgusting proof could be had if you ever saw the need to do so. But no, their questions do not produce the NEED of proof. They will just have to accept your word. Don't volunteer too much info about your past and what the ex is doing, don't give his status or his address or phone number to the inquisition. Just stick with that. They will see that you don't want prying, and they will report back to the body of elders that you said it was okay, they couldn't dispute what you said. DONE.

prayer with JWs
by truthsearcher inas a lurker, i am now attempting my first post.
a question for any who may wish to comment.
what would be the response if i asked a jw to open our "discussion" in prayer to jehovah for our eyes to be open to the truth of what we are about to study?

are they really praying to the God of the Bible since so much of what they believe is wrong, wrong, wrong.
They think they are. The truth of that matter is really deeper than you or they or I know, only opinions can be gathered.
would they fall off the couch in shock if I asked the gentleman to pray.
Answered here by others, NOT LIKELY. Your request for a certain thing to be included will be taken into account, probably worded carefully, but still adequate to your request.
are they lurking on this board...
Many are here, most are not. Who knows with the "they" you are referring to?

The Number 1 "hole" in the doctine of Jehovah's Witnesses...
by gordon d inafter years of research, i think i've finally come across the biggest hole in the basic doctrine of jw's .
they say that there is no hell...but that you can live for eternity in a world full of nothing but witnesses.... .
...i'm not sure, but i think this statement contradicts itself??????

That Jesus is invisibly "present" since 1914. Those disciples really would have asked, "Excuse me, what will be the sign of your invisible presence later on?" Now, as the rest of
ChristendomChristianity teaches, they would have asked "What is the sign we should look for that you are about to arrive?" Remove that doctrine and the rest of modern day stuff really does fall apart. That he inspected his people and found the drunken President of the WTBTS, who was pretending his new book was Russell's, along with corporation lawyers and accountants, to be worthy of being called his only true servants on Earth. So let's let them keep pushing doctrinal error for decades, then get Freddy Franz in there to really put some whacko understanding to it.

Queengreen, I sent these questions to you in a PM, wanted to be sure you got them. Ask these of the JW's then ask former JW's here on the forum if they agree with the answers. There are many religious groups which lead people astray from true Christianity. Should a person examine not only the teachings, but also the history of any religious organization before deciding it is the truth?
What if I joined a religious group to later discover that they have altered their teachings or prophecies? Should I stay in it? What happens if I leave?
Does the organization or leadership claim to be a prophet of God?
Both Deuteronomy 18:20-22 and Matt. 24:11,23-27 warn us of false prophets. How would one identify a false prophet using these verses? Why are Jehovah’s Witnesses not false prophets, have they ever foretold God’s Will and then were wrong?
What would you think if members of a certain religion were not allowed to read other religious literature?
The Mormons claim that one must study THEIR books to attain to an accurate knowledge of the Bible. What do you think of that?
If I was examining the Mormons, do you think it would be a good idea to read books by ex-members? To learn about them from any outside sources such as Time Magazine or maybe websites? Is your answer the same for those examining the teachings of Jehovah’s Witnesses?
Doesn’t the following quote from Watchtower material require that I thoroughly check out Jehovah’s Witnesses?
1983 United in Worship book chap. 20 p. 155 par. 4 Life and Blood—Do You Treat Them as Sacred?
The Scriptures show that if we are part of any organization that is bloodguilty before God, we must sever our ties with it if we do not want to share in its sins. (Rev. 18:4, 24; Mic. 4:3) Such action deserves urgent attention.
Do prominent scholars, either secular or religious, support the WT understanding of Scripture? Shouldn’t I examine the scholarly works which the WT quotes, both for a full understanding of their support and also to see what else their training has taught them? -

Hypocrisy on holidays, etc.
by Rebirth ini was just thinking about how hypocritical it is for jw's to declare things like birthdays, christmas, easter, thanksgiving, etc.
as defiled because of their roots.
their roots, their beginning, in the days of russell, are the things that they find disgusting today (the cross, birthdays, blood, etc.).

"WISE" That depends on what you mean.
If you want to show him your learned or shrewd understanding of the issues- Wise, yes.
If you want to make it difficult for him to dispute your wisdom- Wise, yes.
If you want to stir up trouble- Wise, yes.
If you want to start him thinking- Wise, yes.
If you want to have peace in the family and cause him to back down at the same time- Wise, no.

open our "discussion" in prayer to Jehovah for our eyes to be open to the truth of what we are about to study
If you word it like that, they will assume the prayer is to open your eyes to the truth, as their eyes are already open.
BUT, JW's will never let a non-JW open a study or discussion with prayer. You can have fun with the meeting by
insisting that YOU open with such a prayer. They will have to decide what to do- if they allow it, ask why they did not
say amen to your prayer. -

Good point. Include this, though:
The Watchtower was founded on Pyramidology.

Why the number of "anointed" will never decrease...
by dozy injw theology suggests that the work of gathering in the "144,000" has all but ended , particularly since 1935 , and that the number will inevitably diminish to nil.
indeed , some jws maintain that all the anointed will have died and resurrected before armageddon arrives.
the watchtower claims that the fact (?

b} - Say that only the "real annointed i.e.Governing Body candidates" really partake, but quit counting numbers of partakers because that is a "distraction" and invites "unqualified persons".
d} - fudge the numbers in a downward spiral for a few years, then end up with one of the a..b..c.. scenarious. This would lessen the shock wave.
I like these, but JW style would suggest E, if that doesn't solve it, resort to D.
e} - start beating up on the R&F about "false partakers" and "drinking blood to yourselves if you are unworthy". Repeat until total submission occurs.
