  Is the Muslim religion actively looking for a war or fight?

  muslims daily, in the arab world, call for the death to christians and the americans.

  even looking at some muslim websites, you will see jesus shown to be evil and the christian faith to be a terrible group of people.

  so with this, why does minor comments on them and cartoons about their founder make them so extreme?

  The Western spin doctors want us 'twitching in our beds at night' - concerning ourselves about Islamic nut jobs.

  Yes, there are factions within the Islamic world who want bloodshed, as there are in the pseudo Christian Western administrations - who kill the people, poison the land and turn the desert into glass in the name of 'democrasy' ...

  The Church of Rome has actively waged war against Islam since its inception and nothing has changed, aside from the stakes are now higher due to the proliferation of high tech weaponary (mostly developed and held by Western authorities).

  When the US/UK told us that Saddam had WMDs when Iraq was illegally occupied, that was clearly a big pile of shit. People like Dr David Kelly blew the whistle and he lost his life (killed by the secret services in the UK as a warning to others).

  There is not a huge Islamic terrorist network operating on US/UK soil - there are obviously going to be isolated pockets of resistance against Western powers though.

  If you think 9/11 was a strike by Islam against the West, then you know very little and have a lot to learn about how the secret service operates/what their agenda is at present and how social engineering works upon our minds daily through the media.

  Who celebrates Halloween?

  i know a lot of christians, not just jws, don't feel comfortable celebrating halloween.

  for me, it's just an excuse to have fun.

  JWs aren't wrong about absolutely everything - they are just control freaks with a wonky religion.

  It is a relief not to be associated with those silly 'so-called' celebrations and for the 15 years I have been away, I haven't felt the need to go back to either Christmas or Halloween (which is quite small in the UK anyway, but getting bigger every year as far as I can see).

  it broke my heart to read about someone having to paying court fee's after wining a sexual abuse case against the wtbts.

  she ended up winning 5,000 dollars but has to pay 220000 dollars in court feee to wtbts and for her lawyer.

  Yes, there may be an internal policy now allowing 'depressed ones' to seek outside help (and lets face it, a lot of the maniacs at the hall will only make matters worse!) - but when I was there in the early 90s I was told by a well respected sister that I was not wise to seek the counsel of somebody aligned with the world.

  But the light just keeps on getting brighter... or should that be "common sense is resurfacing in light of severe internal problems and possible law suits against the society" ?

  Afterall, how many broken down individuals crippled by delusional minds and inefficient emotional support can one organization take?

  IMO - you are probably going to end up wasting both your time and your energy in this mission. Most JWs suffer from an institutionalized mentality and will not listen to you.

  Remember: they believe they have absolute truth supplied by almighty God - what can you possibly say to convince them otherwise? Many have tried and many have failed, even people like Raymond Franz only have partial success.

  Individuals when isolated from the hive may be swayed by attitude. Rather than supplying reams of information, why not chip away at individual witnesses who appear to be thinking outside of the box?

  On point 2, are those lectures that are lectured at the theocratic school (i believe thats what its called) from the corp or did individual JW's write them? Can i come up with one and read it to them (preassuming the elders accept it)?

  Not going to happen - unless that congregation exists through "Alice's Looking Glass" - you would be man-handled out of the hall by the burly brothers at the back as soon as they detected 'apostate' intentions.

  Just unplug yourself, walk away, and adjust yourself to being fully disconnected. They are full of shit and in denial. You can present an entire volume of well reasoned information and it will end up in the Watchtower recycle bin.

  Beardo, the (probable) addition to Josephus is in Greek and uses stauros, so the mere use of "crucifixion" in English translation doesn't really solve the question -- although it is pretty clear to me that stauros did mean a T-cross in this context.

  My point is, that the orthodox church have used the image of the cross since the early days of Christianity, so who should we trust?

  To be honest, I no longer care either way, as I can see the agenda both ways. JWs want to be seperate so have to use their own unique iconography and get very dogmatic about this whole issue.

  Its pathetic really.

  This obvious forgery credited to Josephus may shed light on the matter:

  At this time there was a wise man who was called Jesus. And his conduct was good, and he was known to be virtuous. And many people from among the Jews and the other nations became his disciples. Pilate condemned him to be crucified and to die. And those who had become his disciples did not abandon his discipleship. They reported that he had appeared to themafter his crucifixion and that he was alive; accordingly, he was perhaps the Messiah concerning whom the prophets have recounted wonders.

  Whoever the forgers were (and nobody knows for sure) - even they indicate that a guy called Jesus was 'crucified' and most of us know that crucifixion involves that nasty Pagan cross.

  Surely these guys who shoehorned that into the texts would know better than a small group of individuals popping up in the late 19th century.

  But, of course, this is a mute point in reality as death is death however the person is killed, and as has already been stated - the JWs love to be separate from everything orthodox!

  Robin of Sherwood - cancelled - truly criminal.

  They are remaking it, but I doubt it will be as good. A bit like the poor remake of Dr Who. Mind you the original Dr Who was a bit poo as well.
