Ti amo (relationship/lover/spouse)
Ti voglio bene (between friends)
Ti voglio (strong sexual meaning, "I want you" referred to the other person's body)
Hope this helps! I'm not an Italian expert, but I believe this is correct.
hey all, i could really use some help.. i am looking for the proper way a parent might say to their child i love you in these languages.. spanish, french, italian.
i am definitely interested in other languages, gaelic, arabic, russian etc.
but many languages involved alphabet characters i am not familiar with.. i do know that there are online translators, babelfish etc.but i have found out the hard way, those are really not reliable, and i need to know as specifically as possible.. i am finding that unlike the english language, there might be one way to say i love you in a romantic manner and a way to say i love you in friendly, non romantic manner.

little drummer boy and i are music lovers.
he plays drums (really well), and i love to sing (not as well as i'd like); i was involved in band from 6th grade until i graduated from high school, then i was in our city's citizen's band.
i played the clarinet (really well), and i really loved being in the citizen's band; i cried when i called to quit because we were new "in the truth" and i couldn't be in it anymore because they played patriotic songs and rehearsal was always on thursday nights.

Little Drummer Boy was in a rock band for several years, but had to quit also cuz of the Dubs. We're resentful that the borg took away our connection to music. Are any of you in a band? What do you play? What type of music? What kind of gigs do you do?

In Italian it's ti amo; I'm not fluent, but I love to sing in Italian!
just wondering how many of us are nurses?
i'm a licenced practical nurse (working on my rn degree), and i work as a cosmetic dermatology specialist.
i see about 10 to 16 patients per day, doing things like laser hair removal treatments, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, skin care consultations, etc.
But are you a naughty nurse?
Since I'm the Licensed Practical Nurse you originally quoted when you asked this question, I thought it appropriate to respond:
I'm actually pretty well behaved and I'm good at what I do. It's nice that you've taken interest in this thread; just be careful, 'cuz I'm also a married Nurse and Little Drummer Boy is big and strong and I might have to sic him on you!
Very true. Not to mention that, in my experience, many JW's are LAZY workers who always seem to feel "entitled", like their employers owed them something (besides a paycheck). They won't go the extra mile to do a good job, because that might look like they are servants of their employer rather that servants of the Borg. And they often have the attitude, "Why should I work so hard for something that will soon end with the rest of this system of things?"
Oh, GOD - I HATE that phrase "system of things". Makes me want to vomit.
No to say all JWs are lazy workers. I, for one, was not a lazy JDub, and neither was Little Drummer Boy.
do they get angry?
gets furious to the point i haven't even told her 10% of my past as a dub.. do you find it strangely amusing tha they get angry, and laugh or chuckle for some reason?
i do, and i think it's because i find it so ridiculous now and to see someone get flustered over it kind of reaffirms my feelings.. does it make your relationship difficult?
How many of you have had to tell everyone you work with (who have only known you to be a Dub) that suddenly you're no longer a Dub? That's the situation I'm in right now. I DA'd in September after being a Dub for 14 years. I've worked at my present job 6 1/2 years, so they've only known me to be a Dub. I was never a "good" witness-I virtually NEVER witnessed to my workmates, probably because (in retrospect) I was embarrassed to be a JW, an almost unforgivable sin in JW land. So they all knew I was a JW and that I didn't ever celebrate holidays or birthdays. This year is my first Christmas in 14 years, and I am coming to the office Christmas party. Imagine the shock on their faces when I said I was coming. I haven't had time to really explain things to any of them except for my boss, who is very understanding and sympathetic. I agree that most people can't possibly understand or relate to what we've been through, unless they've actually been there. That's why I enjoy posting here so much.
this is for the us crowd, what state do you live in?
or from?----i live in tennessee, but from ohio and kentucky.
Born, raised, and will probably die in Indiana.
ok... i admit that josh groban is not a jw... i just wanted to use a cheap gag to get your attention!

OK, I must step in to say, despite the eerie name of this CD, it is a must-have. As some of you know (i.e. LovesDubs and my hubby Little Drummer Boy) I am a HUGE Josh fan. His vocal talent is beyond description; you just have to listen to appreciate it. So no one make fun of him lest you incur the wrath of exwitless!
i am writing a handbook for volunteers that will be volunteering in senior related areas.
one will be visiting seniors in convelescent hospitals and assisted living centers.. one will be visiting them at home bringing food, supplies, and doing home repairs.. for those of you who are seniors yourself can you tell me what your greatest needs have been?.
for those of you who work as nurses or cna's in these centers can you tell me what you would like to see volunteers do to help?.
I'm a nurse and worked at a nursing home for over 4 years. Volunteers are always needed there. They can help escort patients from their rooms to the activity room; assist with activities, like bingo or music time or whatever. Sometimes patients would just like someone to come sit with them and chat, unhurried and undistracted. Female patients love having their fingernails trimmed and painted. Some patients love having their hair combed for 10-15 minutes (like a scalp massage). Patients who have poor eyesight might enjoy having someone stop by with the newspaper or a magazine and having articles read to them. On a pleasant day, volunteers can take patients outside in their wheelchairs and walk around the premesis, even patients who are semi-vegetative. Of course, most of these things need to be OK'd through the nurses or volunteer coordinator first. There are endless things a volunteer can do at a nursing home that can make a difference in the quality of life for the patients.
a former good friend of mine (devout jw still) came into where i work.
i knew she was there, so i went right up to her and said, "hi".
she said "hi" with sort of a sick look on her face, and i said "how are you?".
A former good friend of mine (devout JW still) came into where I work. I knew she was there, so I went right up to her and said, "Hi". She said "Hi" with sort of a sick look on her face, and I said "How are you?". She just craned her neck to look as far away from me as possible, like she was looking for someone, so I said, "Do you need help with something?" She tried to ignore me, but when she saw that my coworkers were nearby, she just said, "No, just waiting to check out." So I said OK and continued working. It was like I was a complete stranger to her. Kinda sad, because she and I were pretty good friends; we'd meet for lunch once in a while, and she always made time to talk to me if she ran in to me somewhere. Doesn't make me want to come back to the KH, that's for sure.
