  share your reaction after reading CoC and ISoCF

  after reading coc and isocf i cried, i was in shock, disillusioned, angry, and afraid... anyone wants to share their experience?.

  i would like to see what you think about these questions when compared with your account.. why people from different backgrounds feel similar reactions?

  (cannot be a conpiracy).

  COC was written without hate speech. I would have understood if it was written with loathing towards the BORG. However it was written with care and the love Ray had for his Bethel family was evident in his writing.

  My initial reaction was, OK, he sounds like dozens JW's with tales of their ministry and persecution.

  And then the realization started hitting home. This 'God directed organization' was nothing of the kind!

  It was lies and deceipt and cover ups. When I had finished the book, and i picked up my jaw off the floor, I felt slightly confused. How could I not see all this before?

  The guilt thing of abandoning Jehovah's organization, and being a dog 'returning to his vomit' disappeared.

  CoC helped me a lot. It put it all in perspective. I was so relieved that e-mailed Ray to say thanks for his courage to write it.

  What was the biggest lie that you have ever told any JWs while you were still a JW?

  i was deleted as ms some years ago, a brother thought i became an elder.

  at the circuit assembly, he asked me if i am elder now, i said yes so the brother told me all of the gritty details about his wife and her sister that got disfellowshipped at the same time.

  they went out with the worldly guys and they both got pregnant.

  Unexpected conversation with a long time JW friend (in good standing)

  so tonight after the meeting, this brother whome i've grown up with invited me to eat.

  he had come almost an hour late to the meeting and looked kind of down and a bit depressed.

  i agreed to go eat.. there was very little talking at first.

  cameron van de burgh won gold in the 200m breaststroke.

  chad le clos beat the amazing phelps by a finger, got the gold in that one, a silver in another.

  The situation there at Lonmin is a mess, and it reflects on the corruption in the goverment departments, bad mangagement at the mine and the unions, and Errors made by the cops, and so and so on.

  The mine CEO is in hospital, the management of Lonmin, leaderless. On the other hand, the unions leaders egged on the violence, and now these same people lost control. They sat in the police vehicles, well protected. Then the Police were outflanked. They had no razor wire in place on the sides, just the front entrance. They took a beating and then fought back. It was war, messy, and deadly. And it will take an enquiry to get to "who - did- what- to- whom- first.' A sad day indeed...

  

  A three minute battle and the dead count is 34. Yes, the police were shot at, attacked with machete and panga's, but they, the SA Police, panicked, and that points to poor training, and worse commanders on the ground.

  last saturday i was home with my wife,having a leisurely brekky pottering around in the kitchen ,then i noticed her standing still pondering ,what`s up i asked , wife :i thought i heard someone knocking ,i looked out the window to see two middle aged guys exciting my front drive.why didn`t you tell me they were their,i didn`t hear them.

  i would have engaged them in conversation , but my wife doesn`t think i ought to,just let it go ,is her motto.. but my point is : i`m not deaf , and i didn`t hear them at the door , we were both in the front room ,my wife only thought she heard someone at the door only to be proved right observing them leaving i was in my pj`s and dressing gown so was not going to pursue them.

  we have been living here nearly 5 years now and i can honestly say they have never been on our doorstep more than 4 times if that , i personally have only encountered them 3 times at the most.

  We have lived at our present address for over 7 years. I have seen them at my gate twice in that time, and once found a pamphlet in the post box. I have seen the JW's out in town doing streetwork, maybe 3 times in the last year and a half.

  Another day, another apostate. Here's my story.

  been lurking for a bit, and feel safe enough now to tell my story (condensed).. i'm a third-generation born-in, but my parents were inactive for most of my upbringing.

  this means i got the worst of both worlds--no worldly friends (home schooled all but grades 2-3), no witness friends (since we never went to the hall except for memorial), and a generally isolated upbringing in a tiny, tiny town.

  needless to say, my emotional, social, and personal growth were stunted.

  My uncle has died.

  last week wednesday at about 11:40 pm, on a cold and rainy night, my uncle breathed his last breath.

  he was at hospice and he was alone.

  alone because the whole family was there the previous night saying their goodbyes.

  i've been seeing comments made about this but have not really paid much attention.

  when did this program begin?.

  i wish i could have been there to hear how the convention speaker presented a dumbed-down version of the watchtower to an arena full of people who have been discouraged from education in the first place.. .
