  Do Animals Have Souls?

  i know most jehovah's witnesses believe in the soul sleeping doctrine.

  by this, given that neither man nor beast has a spirit, but that they do possess souls (or "intelligences" unique to themselves).

  where this intelligence resides between death and resurrection is more than a passing interest, but again, assuming that yehweh can recreate one's distict soul, does the society believe that animals have souls?

  That is the one thing that always brings me back to being an athiest. Why the animal destinction from humans?

  How to teach TTATT from the inside?

  hello all, just wanted to compile a list of tricks and techniques on witnessing to others for us on the inside, especially those of us that still give talks.

  do you have a tried and tested way of doing this or do any have some ideas?

  how can we plant seeds from the platform without being obvious?.

  Simply put there is no way the safe guards that the GB have put up are pretty much unbreakable unless they person in question is doubting already. Even then you tend to get what I call Marge Syndrome ( Marge Simpson ) and the rat you out because of their conscience. Which is what the GB have programmed to do.

  Do You TRUST The Police, The Government, People In General?

  i think most people lie.

  some more than others.. we are taught, as children to trust the police, the authorities, our teachers, the clergy, our doctors, etc.. do you easily trust and believe in people?.

  i don't, but i do try to look at the good in people..

  Yes to a point I do until they give me a reason to cease trusting them.

  If you don't trust them to a degree than think about can you function. I mean you wouldn't be able to give out your credit card or buy anything for that matter. Also you would be able to get any help what so ever because the help can't be trusted.

  Why won't JWs have "civilized" debates with home owners?

  it seems kind of crazy to go to someone's house touting your religion as truth and then not even defend your own beliefs.

  why do jws stop the chat if someone just tries to calmly reason/debate with them?

  i'm not talking about crazy preachers who start slamming bibles and yelling about how they need jesus or something.

  i was doing some research on the subject of beliefs and belief systems when i came across an on-line survey/test that supposedly helps you determine which religion or philosophy is most like your current beliefs.

  Unitarian Universalist after reading up on them I would agree. A close second was Secular Humanist. Neo-Pagan was fifth which made much more sense than third Liberal Quaker.

  This I my opinion could be expanded to anyone on the low educated on the right (not all conservatives fit this but pretty much most of them now)

  It used to be back in the day conseratives put up good intellectual debate points but as time went on and more evidence debunked those points and they failed to come with new ones. The right slowly fell into using two of the oldest and least civilised but rather sucessful debate techniques; demonizing and denial.

  Demonize your opponet so that anything they say will instantly be rejected by the masses. No matter how credible it is.

  Deny you are wrong no matter how obvious it is that you are wrong. Becuase remember your opponent is in with the devil.So the right, must be right, no matter what.

  aug wt q and a has now stated that any df'd person can sit with anyone, anywhere at a congregation meeting.. before, they had to sit at the back of the hall.

  OK I lied I just asked a brother in the know. OK I lied again the brother volunteered it I didn't even ask for it. It still would of been in my top 1000 guesses. So far no firewalls preventing me from any sites.

  Advice please - How dating works in world?

  looking for your advice.

  i was born in 'the truth', homeschooled, washed windows for work, etc.. im rather ignorant of how the whole dating thing works.. .

  i'm sure i'm not the only person on here who grew up 'in the truth' and is/was a virgin in their late 20s, never been to a nightclub, etc., while everyone around them has a family/kids.

  There would be lots of women who'd think an older virgin would be attractive.

  Don't go there trust it won't end well they are virgins for a reason stay away very far away even if you are a true believer. It doesn't matter how attractive they are they are the worst to get along with as they are totally dominating woman.

  Also to add to this even most Christians I know in and out of the Org think older virgins are of one or three ilks. Gay, Liar, or Freak of Nature
