Last I checked it was very much under exaggerated. To the point that the Japanese government was going to take over and tap into this years diaster funding to the tune of 1.6 billion dollars.

Are Elders given back ground checks before appointment?

I would say not only no but they don't hardly keep track of their own records I was baptized and apparently they lost my card and I almost had to start over from scratch when I reactivated not long ago, they found it some how. I would of left right then if they hadn't.

I think the problem all christians have with atheist is they think that athiests have no clue about Jesus or the Bible and think only bad of God and Christians. Which is why they have contempt for them or talk to them like Atheist are spoiled children wanting to have their fun sinning and the such. Not realizing most atheist were raised as christians and have seen or heard plenty of sins commited in the name of god. A lot of time they have read the bible several times over thier lives and came to the conclusion that Christianity has about as much validity as any other religion's claim to validity. Hence Jesus and Zeus are pretty much the same load of crap in diffrent packaging. It's just one is accepted as real and one was accepted as real at one time.

mostly chaste courtship, kingdom hall wedding, blah blah.. well there are lots of cases of fondling but they were soon forgotton.
when my husband and i confessed to sex before marriage, the elders were disgusted.

I would say pretty close to 80% in my circles had sex (in someform there of) before marriage. Also the 20% that didn't regreted the marriage later. It's funny the 20% tend to have the nasty divorces later on. Hump before you jump people if you can't then are you really that close to each other to begin with.

At some point soon the org is going to have to get the great tribulation ball rolling so I get the feeling they will trying something to get the public to turn on them and start persecuting them in some way that will get the average JW to fall in line.

Last night the one cool elder calls me
by confusedandalone ini figured he was going to arrange the committee and try to get me kicked out after the whole "big pile of books" labelled "take this shit".. well his call made me realize that more and more people ... elders included no longer take this religion seriously.
after he told me he heard what happened he actually laughed and said i would never expect that.
he then told me that it is apparent that i no longer want to be connected to the organization.

Yeah I know of several brothers and sisters that are clearly back in the world and going to other churches but are not DFed. I think this is what happened as Dfing them would of brought up a huge stink and would of made the org look really bad. In one case a couple married and had a kid before the elders found that one party wasn't availble to married according to the orgs guildleines and forced them to get a divorce. They both left and are still divorced and one was openly living with their new lover without getting married first but they still are openly talk to relitaives on the inside like nothing happened as far as I know they are not dfed.

How can I stop hating the JW religion?
by marriedtoajw inhaving this spiritual division between my wife and i over the years has been very draining in many ways.
so much so that i find myself more and more hating everything having to do with the wtbts especially when i just see watchtower literature.
i've kind of always felt that way but it's getting worst.

I topping hating it by studying the harm caused by other religions. It's just doing what has been done in the past over and over the thing you need to do is stay away from it and tell all who will listen and avoid those that won't.
