  1 1/2 hour into the agm and my impression so far .......dullsville........a dud!.

  right now bro herd is interviewing old timers who remember back in the 50's 1st releases of nwt of the bible..

  I was let down this could of been down at the DC next year. The feeling in the crowd was that of joy until they started reading it and realized this was all the meeting was about, a book release. I watched as the joy died pretty quick. Then came the app show they are trying hard to be hip and look fresh.

  funny that the "new light" comes in the form of a willingness to scuttle a problematic account which long has been accepted for millenia now, but suddenly is not up to snuff since the wtbts correctly perceives the account as being problematic for their dfing and shunning policies:.

  granted, nt scholars have long known the account is a late addition (it likely appeared in the margin in earlier texts, but was included into the body as time went on, long-ago promoted into the book of john).

  great, but scholars have also long-known that the epistle of 2nd peter is unquestionably a fraudulent work, written long after peter was dead: i wonder why it wasn't dropped from the revised nwt, as well?

  Frankly a lot of Paul's works aren't his. Infact if I remember right analysist showed that it was atleast three distinct writing styles meaning probally several diffrent people wrote the letters attributed to him.

  Well it is increasing but it's a case of the red queen's race and they are losing badly. If they split up languages the stats are much worse than they look together as English congs are being decimated in the US, only the Spanish, Chinese, and Russian Congs growth are hiding it for now.

  The Last NWT in America

  so, my non jw cousins have been telling me about a couple of jws that have been "coming over a lot and talking about their religion" (it's hilarious that my cousins don't see these sessions as "bible studies").

  it seems that i've been hearing about these ladies for at least a year but i doubt that my cigarette smoking, pants wearing, no-dress owning, flip-flop wearing, verbal swearing cousin they come to meet with isn't always available.

  i was told that the last time they were there, they asked my cousin to get her bible.

  When I finally read Revelations in context I came to the same conclusion Martin Luther did back during the reformation. That is it should of been dropped from the bible as it is apocrypha. Revelations is more trouble than it's worth.

  What Does It Take to Be Disfellowshiped For Apostasy?

  if one meets privately with an elder and brings up some religious concerns havin to do with doctrine, does the person risk being disfellowshiped?

  does attitude have anything to do with it?

  They will simply ask you two quesions "Is the Governing Body of the Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses ever been wrong on anything?" and "Are they Jehovah God's only channel for comunicating with man?". If you answer yes to the first and or no to the second and you are then labeled an apostate and announcement is made the following service meeting that you are no longer a Jehovah's Witness. And, that is that.

  Yeah I have to still watch my behavior in that regard. Once you start your exit you really start seeing positive things which actually make you feel a little bad.
