Letter to all congregations in Canada 2010

pledge forms will be issued to all brothers & sisters requesting for donations for k.h.,assembly halls,reno of k.h.etc.they did give some poor excuse as why this was necessary.my guess is that the brothers who made interest free loans to the wbts are asking for these loans back because of all the layoffs and the down turn in the economy.. bob.

Interesting isn't it when the Brooklyn boys can spend millions on new properties and elsewhere

they are crying for money.

They need another forwarding campaign like " Expect the end of the system of things next year " .....or something to that effect.

To fire up the coffers.

One thing that is real is certain JWS who feel guilt ridden for not doing enough for the organization

will actually try and compensate themselves by offering money to the organization.

This ties into why some have given a majority of their wills and estate to the WTS.

My own father has done this leaving all of his children including myself with nothing in his will.

The Future of the Economy

i've started this subject a few times and dumped out of it an equal number of times, hoping for better guidance.

at this point, i think it is better for everyone to face highly likely outcomes and get realistic.. first, let's say it plainly: this is a depression.

i define "depression" as a multiyear period of economic weakness, decline, and depressed economic opportunity.

As for North America , the internal economic infrastructure of Canada and US is

weakening down, mostly impart to the transference of manufacturing jobs going abroad to other countries with a lower standard of living and costs.

Manufacturing jobs have been dwindling down at a alarming rate do mostly for that reason and also new technologies that lessen

the amount of actual labor required. Perhaps the labor market may improve when the majority of baby boomers retire

but thats still about 10 years away approximately. With less workers and fewer jobs this brings another concerning problem,

because the majority of retirees will be out of the main stream of spending and put into a conserving mode.

this is of course, speaking for me over 3 years after i left.

i realize that if you are first leaving, this is a big deal.

There is perhaps one example given in the bible pertaining to how God or his son viewed

money and the word, is when Jesus entered the the temple and turned over all the tables where money

and business was being conducted. Showing clearly how wrong and disgusting it was to the eyes

of Jesus. If you value your life Scholar I'd suggest keeping your money out men's hands

that trying to procure it by use of the message of god.

Scholar, your just a scholar of commercialized ignorance and corruption.

If you think god would approve of people false prophesying and making financial gains off of those

false prophecies and living off of those proceeds, your really a son of Satan without doubt.

Did Jarka get disfellowshipped yet?

i don't know why this crossed my mind today.

but, i'm rather curious if a convicted murderer, jarka in this case, got df-d. i mean if murder isn't a disfellowshipping offense, i don't know what is.

a few weeks ago i related this case to my brother, who is an elder.

I would like to see what happens to this guy if he gets let out after 20 years.

Will he return to his old hall, I kind of doubt it.

Since technically he's not listed as DFed he could go anywhere and be welcomed into a congregation with open arms,

well until they find out about his sordid past.

Well thats what you get when you try and emulate 2000 year old social morals and laws.

If he denied this horrendous act to his elders of his hall, he's most likely not Disfellowshipped to this day,

I would assume a private disapproval or a publicly made Disassociation.

Opened a Watchtower Today!

it's been a few years, i had some time to spare and it was there.

not considering the actual message, here is what hit me, hard:.

the font is larger than that used by any secular publication that one would consider intellectual.. the language is so basic that it would bore the educated but would be embraced by those who were "simple" or perhaps mentally challenged.it alsowould not promote thinking as their was so little substance.. i then checked an awake and it is much the same.

I then checked an AWAKE and it is much the same. It really is obvious why this religion attracts; older ones (font size), uneducated people, foreigners with little grasp of the language and those with "mental issues.

Correct assumption, immigrants are not totally aware of how religious cults work and operate, there is a bit of naivety

for most parts. Someone knocking on their door with some preconceived knowledge of Christianity are quickly

aroused by the suggestion of a world in total peace and Paradise.

This of course has always been the WTS biggest luring concept for the publishing house.

In true retrospect though most cults operate on in similar principle of offering

something special like Paradise and to also demean the existing world as evil and horrible in which people are living in.

Basically if 607 is wrong the imaginary return of Christ in 1914 is a lie (even though they changed it from 1874) and thus they never were chosen as Christ's channel, they never had any more backing by Holy Spirit than other religions and they were never chosen as faithful and discrete slave (even though this title was also changed over time).

Hence the JWS wear the label as false prophets as foretold in the bible many times.

The JWS/WTS. was started by men who were nothing but a ignorant self induced, power seeking, personal enhancing, exploitive con men.......end of story .

Back in those days the Bible Students were very mild in their doctrinal understandings and beliefs.

Things started to get radical when Rutherford (1917) took over under great opposition.

This is when the great divide occurred, in 1919 Rutherford proclaimed the organization was

god's solemn chosen one and the bullshit started to get even more pronounced.

The business was all his now to do whatever he wanted to do with it.

Nothing could stop the so called Judge who wasn't really a Judge in his only devised kingdom

with himself seated on the throne.

After numerous speeches and book publishings on behalf of the organization has being the only chosen one here on earth,

in a real sense, power really did go to his head. ( helped most likely by too much booze )

Unfortunately people started to believe this as well he became something of living demi-god.

To not believe in him was an apostasy to the very word of god himself and the rest is history.

The 607 / 587 / 586 B.C.E. Research

for anyone who read through my previous thread concerning the conflict my wife and i had over my coming to this forum will recall that my wife agreed to go with me to the library to research 607 b.c.e.. well, unfornately my daughter and i got sick over the weekend so we could not make that trip.

however, my wife did do some research in her wt publications and on the internet!

frankly, i was surprised she even went to the internet but i told her that to 'stay away' from 'apostate' sites all she had to do was google 'babylonian captivity' and see what comes up.
