Reading that statement clearly identifies to me what a two faced crook Russell was, on one hand he's stating the virtue

of the truth and how Christians should accept and follow themselves in the truth and in the other hand he's promoting and selling literature

which full convoluted bullshit he dreamed up all by himself, which was the Great Pyramid of Gaza was set there by god

as a message to man on his will and purpose for mankind. He was a real salesman, but a snake oil salesman and a cunning opportunist.

Somehow I think he laughed himself silly right to his death on just how cunning he really thought he was and that goes for Rutherford as well.

Yes its beautiful country up here, its a bit disheartening though being that we had the sunniest and warmest summer in

decades to now be locked into the dead dark cold of winter , oh well you cant do anything about mother nature,

you have to take what you get.

There is plenty of proof that certain ones who leave this organization completely do quite well,

who live a good wholesome life and who are a asset to their family and community, I know of a few myself.

Mind you there are a few as well that didn't do so well and that might have been due to the

confining oppression that religions like this can have on to people. The best course to take is chart yourself

with a clear direction to where your going and stick to it, unfadingly.

i have been meaning to bring this up for a long time.. sometimes, i think we (former jw's) who are very rightly concerned about all the lies of the governing body have some great ideas about how to expose jehovah's witnesses.. some of us have very passionate and distinct ideas.

not a few of us have websites with our own personalities evident.. i don't wish this to get personal.

even if i disagree with some presentations or rhetoric of some, i know that it is sincere.

I think guys like Russell and Rutherford were just self marketing opportunists who were playing it out for their own personal benefit.

Just as those previous the newly placed GB are on the same path to self sufficiency and will fight their ground on that merit alone.

So do expect the doctrines to change as needed.

to depend on the publics help in a groundwell of support, without a tsunami size scandal to help, is not realistic.

I would agree with that and remember the WTS is supported by the freedom of religion aspect of the American government a kind of background support.

The inter-net has been effectively used to expose the many faults and dangers of the WTS. and thats good for everyone concerned even

the general public. Will the JW empire collapses quickly in this endeavor, I really doubt it the organization is just too broad based around the entire world now,

the best we can hope for is gradual shrinking, the effort is indeed a purposeful one though to be sure.

The history of the Governing Body

let's piece together the history of the gb of the jws to better understand its nature.

i start by mentioning that russell started it all by investing a lot of his money to set up the wts therefore inevitably he must have seen it as his own property, if he put in the money he should also have control over it.

then other people became investors by buying shares.

Hi Greendawn...........I'm glad you brought that up, there really hasn't been enough mentioned on the forum about the business structuring of the WTS. from the beginning of

C.T. Russell and J. Russell his father / buisnes partner and their slow climb up the tower of the almighty watchtower or should I say atop the pyramid .

A good personal profile on these business men as well as others should be re-examined and laid out so people know how this great kingdom came to be !

Money and power has been a pervasive desire for man since the beginning of human history........RELIGION is just another vehicle to obtain that.

This is very important for ex-jws and the general public to know who, what, how and why the WTS. got created in the first place.

It's all precious knowledge for everyone's concern............not to say that the information already brought out has not been good or of any value.

both study articles are on obeying the governing body, although the second article is more on obeying the elders.

Does the WTS. maintain itself on fruits of goodness or ignorance and fear ?

we have to acknowledge the fact that religion is empowering to men in its established form, like the wts for an example, but where do you think the wts.

went wrong ?.

after all it was a religion that was trying to bring hope and promise to people lives, which certainly is not a bad thing .. did the power of god prove too much for them and they mishandled that said power or was it the publishing and marketing strategy of the group that adulterated the original message ?.
