US publisher report for last year - "official" numbers from Society letter
by sir82 indidn't see this posted anywhere, my apologies if this is a repeat..... in a letter to all congregations dated 12/9/09, the society wrote out some highlights of the previous service year.
the letter is to be read to the congregation "at the first service meeting after its receipt".. here are the numbers they report (all numbers are for us only):.
-- average publishers - 1,096,502. this is about a 4% increase (3.5% if you don't round) over the prior year's average of 1,059,253.. -- that "4% increase" in average publishers is the largest since 1992.

MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE! ! I'M OUTTA HERE...

ironically, i'll be spending christmas with some witnesses this year, as we're going to my sisters and she's invited her family, her father in law and some dubs from the hall over.
thankfully, the ones that are coming are normal and treat me fine, even though they know i don't go anymore.

Fixing the books to make themselves appear viable is part of their self marketing strategy.
Its important to put forth information that is self supporting at the same time hide information that
would essentially reveal something to the opposite.

HDMI Cables - Don't get ripped off
by RubaDub inwhen you buy a blu ray player or other hd devices, you will need to purchase a cable to connect it to your tv (or however your system is configured).. salespeople will typically try to sell you a "monster" cable or some high priced product.
when buying my blu ray player for $79, they tried to sell me a cable for $59.. beware!
with digital signals, you either get the signal or you don't.

I agree with the original poster, there is no appreciable difference from a cheap HDMI cable and a expensive one.
I have boughten both and tested them out on my Sony LCD TV and saw no difference at all, even when playing Blu-ray movies.
So don't let a salesman tell you different and there have been tests done by electronic professionals that have come to the same conclusion.
There appears to be a little more on the outside shielding in the construction of the more expensive cabling but that does not improve
the total signal. Radio Shack has cheaper HDMI cables that do the job quite nicely.

The WTS has done well in commercializing Christianity, creating themselves a lot of wealth and power in the process.
How they went about doing this is not the true ideology of faith in itself. Presenting themselves in a very disingenuous way,
was directly responsible for people to get lured onto the organization, essentially they created a life or death situation into
the peoples minds that they approached and preached to. Offering imminent death or everlasting life is the policy they present.
To people who had not really studied the bible and who were somewhat god believers they were easy to persuade to come into the fold
under this premise. The year of 1914 is nothing but a plausible joke stirred up by among other things pyramidolegy, most JWS
to this day do not know this, neither do they know of the actual year of the destruction of ancient Jerusalem.
The profound ignorance of the WTS starting as far back as Russell is alarming and was mostly put out to help in the circulation
of his magazines and books. He was obviously quite aware of his religious freedom and liberties that was availed to him and he
certainly did put them to good practical use.
A wonder if he was this crooked with his clothing business ?

Sure they used to and probably still do say this, but the catch used to be that the literature was not free.
Magazines, books and bibles were all at a set cost.
It was a part of the marketing strategy.

I'd put a warning at the beginning and end stating that the writings in this book may cause certain ones to go delusionaly psychotic,
and emotionally unbalanced. Particularly with men who lust for power and control as if they were gods themselves.
