  Has/did TBTS abandoned Russell AND Rutherford?

  playing with myspace today and came across this, saying that the wt has abandoned both of them.

  is it not more a case of they pick and choose the bits of their now archaic writings that support current thinking?

  i dont know that one could say they have been rejected though.... what thinks you?.

  did you use wt dates as well as things found from a secular perspective?

  if a witness was researching the 607 dates strictly from watchtower info, would it still become clear they are wrong?

  or does the wtbs *make* the dates add up...?

  Scholar hasn't come to realize when you feed off of ignorance, you become ignorant.

  The WTS has for decades put forth the proclamation that they and only they are the true spokesmen for god

  chosen by himself to dispel bible truths, through his holy spirit.

  Was this just just a self supporting marketing strategy for the Publishing company and

  an assertive act to self empower themselves.

  The facts and evidence speak for themselves.

  Commercialized religious charlatans rarely are associated with the truth.

  A Watchtower Scholar is not a Scholar to trust ......truth

  It is widely but not universally accepted that the Deuteronomistic History (Dtr) was written during the reign of Josiah (reigned c.641-609 BCE) with final revisions and additions a few decades after the destruction of Jerusalem (586 BCE). A minority viewpoint, but an important one, thinks that it was written considerably later, in the late Persian Period (c 500-300 BCE) or even in the Hellenistic Period in the third or second centuries BCE. The majority of scholars accept the earlier dates, largely because the Hebrew of the Dtr looks much more like that of pre-exilic inscriptions than Hellenistic Hebrew, and it is entirely lacking in the sort of anachronisms one would expect from a Persian or Hellenistic text - it contains no Persian words, no Greek words, and no mention of persons or events later than the early part of the exile.

  Its quite disturbing to hear someone support the convoluted commercialized lies of the WTS.

  and then say that all other gathered information is false, just as an effort to oppose the Watchtower.

  As far as I'm concerned the JWS and the WTS. personifies what a false religion is on many levels.

  Religious charlatans who created their own self supporting dogma for power and wealth.

  Do NOT go to college, system is coming to an end, EVEN in 1969!!!!!

  if you are a young person, you also need to face the fact that.

  you will never grow old in this present system of things... .all evidence in fulfillment of bible prophecy indicates that this corrupt system is due to end in a few years... as a young person you will never fulfill any career that this system offers.

  if you are in high school and thinking about a college education, it means at least four, perhaps even six or eight more years to graduate into a specialized career.

  The WTS leaders have manage to make a self concerning interest, to persuade people to stand clear of

  any potential knowledge that would contravene their own established knowledge.

  This is an effort to keep people in their controlling grasp and get them pushing their literature out to the public.

  Better to have people out in service culling more followers that to go to a university and being

  a valued and helpful member of society. By the way don't get married either and have children.

  The JWS religion is not the only religious faith that deems higher education as a direct threat to themselves, so

  they try and dissuade its members from doing so.

  i've started this subject a few times and dumped out of it an equal number of times, hoping for better guidance.

  at this point, i think it is better for everyone to face highly likely outcomes and get realistic.. first, let's say it plainly: this is a depression.

  i define "depression" as a multiyear period of economic weakness, decline, and depressed economic opportunity.

  That might be true Zarco, but I was referring to is on a broad scale when people retire they aren't as apt

  to spend, particularly on high priced items such as cars, furniture, vacations etc.

  It was recently released as general information as an example, the Canadian government stated that in the year 2020

  one third of the population of Canada will be in retirement.

  pledge forms will be issued to all brothers & sisters requesting for donations for k.h.,assembly halls,reno of k.h.etc.they did give some poor excuse as why this was necessary.my guess is that the brothers who made interest free loans to the wbts are asking for these loans back because of all the layoffs and the down turn in the economy.. bob.

  Long ago we announced that when the funds would cease, the activities of the Society would cease proportionately; and that as the funds increased, the Society’s activities would be enlarged." The Society has continued to do exactly that.

  Sounds like Russell was smart enough to cut his losses and run, like selling the printing Establishment and the printing machines

  and perhaps reborn with another business, similar to what he had before.

  Being a cunning businessman he played on his hunches that his products would indeed sell, he knew well that most of his market

  was in highly populated bible believing Christians, all he had to do is orchestrate enough bullshit to grab the publics attention.

  The simple fact is C T Russel was a religious charlatan of the highest order.

  Something that gets dismissed by todays JWS.
