I felt very used as a teenager. I was a good little dub, very polite and respectfull. This made it so people would use me....It would be a sister in her 20-30's with kids, asking me if I wanted to come over and "hang out" (awwwwwww.....how sweet) Then she would say...could you watch the kids awhile...I just need to do this or that, go here or there. Uhhhhhh, sure. real sweet sisters.

Sexless Marriages Could Threre Be a Direct Link by Being Raised JW?

the first time i married a girl who was also raised a jw, sex was great when we first got married but after a couple of years it almost completely stopped.
the marriage did not last much longer i thought it was because we just grew apart and i became uninterested.

I think the thing about sex is....It is work. Not in the beginning....not all the time, but......we can't take it for granted...especially when life is busy. Just the fact that you do enjoy it when you get to it says a-lot. Maybe you two can make more effort in setting aside time. (Me and my hubby have a 1 1/2 yr old and we both are "morning people"....but, he leaves by 6 am....so saturdays are our day...for now. My advise is some that I am going to take too :))
I think you are normal though....if that means anything.

I had to fire somebody this morning

i hired an employee last year out of desperation since medical transcriptionist in this area are extremely hard to find.
this person had experience and had been employed at one place for a long time so i thought i would give this person a try.

A horrible scary thing happened to my daughter. You won't believe this
by coffee_black inmy daughter was on her way to work last week and stopped for a milkshake at a fast food restaurant.
they were caught on tape using the slop bucket they used for cleaning bathrooms etc.
to empty out the milkshake machine while they cleaned it, and then pour the milkshake mix (in the contaminated slop bucket) back into the machine.. apparently there was also a group of kids from an after school program that had a party there that same day.

I am amazed that you came out pretty much unscathed! You had to have hit that tree HARD if the cruise control was still on from the highway! WOW!! I am so glad you are ok! Get yourself some cereal bars for in the truck.....PLease...take care of yourself!!!!!

Where does the human conscience come from?

but i still can't figure out the human conscience.
since the conscience is innate to only the human animal, how did that evolve?.

Do you remember all the things that as a JW were "up to your conscience". In other words...they weren't banned, but if you were a good JW you wouldn't do them?
I never had a real conscience back when I was a dub. I would do things that were "bad" (like sing along to x-mas songs) but then go in service to "feel better" about doing something wrong.
Then when I left I felt like I had no conscience....if I was "bad enough" to celebrate holidays....why not have sex without being married? I had none of my own guidlines.
I had to get over the brainwashing to develop my own conscience and to know where I draw the lines for myself.

I am a great momma now...Now that I am myself.
I was a HORRIBLE parent to my first daughter. I left her and her dad when she was a baby. I had a post partum breakdown and left my Dub life to "die in the world". I wish I could go back and do it all different. But, now that I am better, I am now a good momma to my 9 year old too...I am real, and that makes it so she can be real when she is with me.

My nana passed away tonight.
by Es ini receieved an sms of my mum saying nan was slipping away i literally called as soon as i got the msg, and she had already passed away.
things were looking up for a bit, we were managing to get some water and food into her and she had accepted to have a tube put in her, they tried last night but it was unsuccessful.. when i saw her on saturday it was the most alert she was, sunday she had very laboured breathing and tonight when my mum go into the hosp, my nan was no responsive, it was like she just waited for my mum to come in and then she passed away.. im in shock, even tho i knew it was coming it was looking hopeful for a bit there.. thanks for your support.

MY DAD MIGHT DIE DUE TO THE 'NO BLOOD' DOCTRINE
by Mary ini don't have much time to post as i'm headed back to the hospital, but my father collapsed this morning and had to be rushed to the hospital.
in a nutshell: he needs a blood transfusion as his hemoglobin is dropping (bleeding internally), but thanks to this fucking cult, that's not an option...........he'll accept the fractions but those bastards from the blood liaison committee have already shown up to ensure he doesn't cave............... for those of you who still believe, i'm asking you to say a prayer for my dad........and if anyone from crooklyn is reading this: you better hope my father doesn't die due to your fucked up rules, .
