I now know what is wrong with the Watchtower Society!!
by TooBad TooSad inposters, readers, and lurkers of this site know that the watchtower society does not know.
the meaning of "soon", "near", "very soon", "very near", "just on the horizon", "just around the.
corner", etc.

That is very true! I guess the followers need a dictionary too. I like your reasoning on this!

The Watchtower has trained us well.....to be vocal apostate's!
by megsmomma ini was thinking about how "against" the watchtower so many are.
we are outspoken about it and want people we love to get out too.
we are very vocal about it...more so than a-lot of people are when they leave a religion.

We are very vocal about it...more so than a-lot of people are when they leave a religion. I think it is because we still have some of the mentality in us that we want to "save" people.
We were trained to go to people's houses to get them out of "Babylon the Great" and now that we know the religion is a cult, we want to continue to help people out of false religion.
I bet they regret training us so well!!

Sweet rolls:
Easy and very pretty! My grandma always made these...and there really isn't a "recipe"...but, here are the directions for them..
Use a round cake pan
Put a layer of brown sugar on the bottom
Put dots of butter on top of that (about every inch apart)
Sprinlke drained and chopped marichino cherries all over
Use bread dough (either canned, or home made) and make into balls and put around pan. Bake according to bread directions. When done....flip the pan onto a plate.......Walla!!
The brown sugar and butter makes a glaze on the bread and the cherries give it an awsome flavor! Tastes best warm.

Man, what a scary thought! I think I personally would have done it because I had spent all my "life" waiting for the end to come....and also I would have thought it would be "no big loss" to go ahead and die....HOPEING they were right. I think it would divide those with something to live for, and those who have too many struggles to care....and that would factor in on the percentage that drank the Kool Aid.

One of my husband's favorites for b-fast is grits and scrambled eggs all mixed together. I didn't like it at first, but, like him, it grew on me!!

Look into what the Society really teaches. The day to day things from the Bible are beneficial and most of the time make really good sense.
However, look deeper into the doctrines they hold onto untill the last minute and see that they may not be "God's mouthpeice" afterall.
Search out who Jesus is the mediator for, and how they came up with the name Jehovah, and where they got the 607 BCE date from.
Be brave...and make the real truth your own!!

How long does it take to "catch up" from the WTBTS stunting your growth?
by megsmomma infollowing my last thread about how being a jw stunts your mental growth, .
i was thinking f how many people here that have recently come out of the haze...and seem to be "caught up" on their mental abilities rather quickly.
does your mind catch up to your age as soon as the "flip switches"....or does it take time living in the "real world" for a while that does it?.

Following my last thread about how being a JW stunts your mental growth,
I was thinking f how many people here that have recently come out of the haze...and seem to be "caught up" on their mental abilities rather quickly. Does your mind catch up to your age as soon as the "flip switches"....or does it take time living in the "real world" for a while that does it?
To me it seems that it took a while for me to "act my age"...but, I was still stuck in the JW mentality for years after I left. It seemed I was able to "grow up" soon after I realized that the borg warped my thinking.
I would love to hear everyone's thoughts on this!!
