I feel the same ....My husband says it is the "JW mentality" I feel like it is my "purpose" to help others out of the cult. I always think of things I can do. It drives my husband nuts, as he is content with his purpose in life of taking care of our family and enjoying our time together. I feel like that is my purpose too, but I still think about what "my calling" is as far as doing something with the info I have about JW's. I wish I could be more like him.

purpose

because as we both know, without purpose, we would not exist.
it is purpose that created us.

I have an IDEA....an "Apostate smokeout"
by megsmomma inok....maybe this is stupid, but i was thinking of all of us setting up a day to go to the meeting and all that are here and hiding, or just lurk here could participate and we could set up an underground support system.
it would just entail a simple gesture at the meeting....like holding a tissue, or some toilet paper.
(like you had a runny nose) if there are elder lurkers and they tried to "catch" someone doing this...what could they say.."why are you holding a tissue????????

What I was thinking is I would have a purse full of my number and web sites for someone to check out and if anyone was "flying" the white "flag" I would make myself available to them to "talk" and "welcome" me. No one knows me around here, so it could work for me...but it would be cool to see how many have runny noses!
Does any one want to do this? Any other idea's? We could make it a universal date and just keep talking about it till we do it to make sure everyone knows.
I would really like the opinion of those still going to the meetings for their families sake....I mean don't you think you may find someone else you already know and love having the same thoughts as you...maybe someone to go in "field service" with!?

Why is the Watchtower Society so cruel to teens?
by RULES & REGULATIONS inmy mom just informed me that a 17 year old has been disfellowshipped at her hall.at least 7 others have been kicked out within the last 5 years.the publisher count is only 56 .why do they let the teens get baptized so young?
i was 14 and only got baptized because of pressure and the end was coming.if you weren't baptized you would be destroyed.. why don't they wait until everyone is at leat 21?
all these teens haven't come back and you won't ever see them unless they return.i haven't seen my cousin in over 2 years.no one went to his wedding, isn't invited to any family functions and is to be avoided at all costs.. the watchtower society should be ashamed that they act that way and the parents let them get away with it..

I soooooo agree with you. In my case, I have 3 siblings.....I was the oldest and only one baptised (at 14 also). Now that we are all adults, I am the only one shunned, and they are all welcome..and even love bombed by the org. It ticks me off because my youngest sister (21) is contemplating going back and SHE WILL NOT LISTEN TO ME!!!! She almost dies to talking a stand against blood. (She never took a stand againt pre-marital sex or drugs however) I think it is utterly ridiculous. I have a daughter still being raised as a JW and I will keep talking to her about the WISE decicion of not getting baptised untill she is WAY older...If she then chooses. Jesus was a great example...He wasn't baptised till in his 30's.

Are they idiots??
by nonamegiven inon my years as a jw i have always had doubts.

I was recently contemplating this as well. I know of many coming up to the retirement age that have no retirement. I was thinnking it would be hard for them to give up their "hope" of the world ending at this time because they would have to face too many realities. And I agree with all that was said above.

The Bible says by their fruits you will know them, and the society tells us that it is speaking of them. Your life tells a different story and I am so sorry for all you endured, and are still enduring. I hope this board provides you with the care and support you are needing.

Something happened at church yesterday
by lovelylil inso my hubby wanted to go to church yesterday.
it was a non-denominational one in the town next to ours.
i went along because he feels he needs a church to attend to keep him on the right track.

If you didn't like that particular church....don't go to it....find another one. I went to a non-denom here and we had our ornery baby with us and no one seemed to care. I think it would be un-natural to send your kid off with strangers and I don't think you are over-reacting. There is no need to feel uncomfortable....you've done enough of that!

The Red, White and Blue flies high!
by AK - Jeff ini have never owed a flag, certainly never flown one at my home.
today i hung one proud and high on my front stoop.
i bought two of them - one will likely be hung in the back entrance area.

Since you are a "newbie" flag flier....I just wanted to give you heads up on what people do. When it is dark, you take it down, or have lights on it....and if it gets tangled up....you try to fix it soon. I don't know of anything else...but we just found this out recently ourselves.
