Oppgirl.....My step-dad had a similar reaction.....After I sent him the "proof" he said..."I think what they are saying is that the children won't be destroyed"...HUH????????? I guess he is planning on having all the grandchildren with him in the New system....so he can ignore their lives now.

Going to visit relatives...What do I do about boundaries with JW mom?
by megsmomma ini am really excited about getting to go see my sister and grandparents in nv.
i will be going with just my 1 1/2 yr old.
my g-parents were never jw's and my sister was never baptised and just kind of rides the fence.. the issue i am having is my mom lives right by them.

The issue I am having is my mom lives right by them. I have not seen or spoken to her in over a year. (Since I had the baby and she said we would all die in "A" and I had to have her leave my home since she was upsetting me so much) I have tried to call her to no avail in the beginning...but, have since stopped (for over a year) and I really don't want to see her...but, I also want to be mature about it too. I know she doesn't care about seeing me at all...but, she would want to see Meg. (Even though she has shown no interest in her life at all)
I was thinking of telling her if she wants to see us, she will have to sit down with only me first and we will go over some ground rules....basically no talk of religion...and if she has something to say, say it then.Then again, she wouldn't likely bring anything up with everyone else around anyways.
I guess the big thing is I don't want her even around my baby...but, Megan is too young to be affected right now.
I don't know...I guess I am just being a worry wart.

One of those days

my husband and i have been out for almost 9 months now and i still struggle with so many emotions.
some days/weeks i'm fine and other times i just have so much bottled up, i feel like exploding.

I think you are going through the common steps to freedom from a cult. Anger is one of them....and I do think it gets better with time. It still gets to me at times, but....I have accepted it more as time goes on and tried not to be so mad. It is hard though, especially when you can't get through to your family.

i told her that the god she worshipped is going to destroy innocent children at armegeddon.
she said that's not true...they don't believe that.

I am officially divorced
by Billzfan23 inyesterday was the day - that my marriage of over 10 1/2 years to my jw wife was dissolved....finally.... - i am in a terrific mood today!
my wife and i have joint physical and legal custody of the kids which is awesome!
she doesn't make them go to meetings or go out in service and she has to allow all extra carricular activities.

And I do agree Mr. Flipper...It seems the time of birth has some kind of effect on your personality. I can usually guess when a person's birthday is when I get to know them....and that is from minimal research on the subject.

by journey-on inmine is a hamburger cooked medium well with fresh home grown tomato, lettuce, purple onion, mustard and mayo...no ketchup...kosher pickle on the side.. the bun must be toasted and preferably either sesame seed or poppy seed.

That is awsome! I love poems that flow...and that one really did! It is amazing that they continue to lie....and decieve many....even though it is very clear that the guidance they provide is not from a higher power that cares.
