  i am surprised by many here who seem to give kent the benefit of: "a bad little boy can't be all bad".. kent forced censorship on h20, he exploited the freedoms of this board.

  would kent's "stretching the envelope" posts be allowed on his db?.

  i know that jw's say only 144,000. however, i just read a book called "as time runs out" by robert jeffress and he claims that all christians who have received jesus will be picked up at the rapture.

  but, he says, we will not all have the same rank in heaven.

  he claims that different responsibilities will be assigned.

  how come every year during the memorial talk they say the number of partakers is dwindling.

  if they just look back at the numbers in their own literature, its hovered around 8-9k, going up and down for decades.

  example 2000: 8755 partakers.

  when so much peopel say jw is a cult,comperd to the most religions we are very diffrent yes.. but if we go back to christ and was he was teching,you must say this was a cult to, he was telling he was the only one, a remark as you say on a cult, he was saying he come from the lord also a remark as you say,he was telling you must obey him also a remark on a cult as you say, he say if you dont se him as the son of the lord you have no life ,also a remark on a cult as you say,and he say he give his follower power from heaven, oups this is a very bigg remark on a cult.. littel confusing isnt is?

  Jesus talked about only a few being saved. He did not give authority to anyone to judge who that is.

  Such as Watchtower deciding that rape and molestation survivors should be 'cut off', and if a JW disagree with that --even a relative such as a parent or child--THAT person in turn would be cut off. This is cult behavior.

  Such as any pro-Watchtowerite coming on this board and blatantly and flagrantly lying about Watchtower doctrines, trying to slant the views in a favorable light, 'water it down' so to speak. This is cult behavior. Not to mention that it doesn't work. It certainly does help support the cause of the anti-Watchtowerite, tho.

  The Watchtower has always depended on one thing to gain new converts: hiding/whitewashing their history.

  How to defend against shunning

  we all know that for the most part, many of the people on this board would be shunned in the presence of a active witness.

  since this is a form of projecting negative energy, we should be aware of ways to counter these methods and protect ourselves from doubts and self destructive thoughts.

  Some would certainly see no reason to be angry at an organization whose members are beating, raping and murdering one another at a rate unprecedented in their 120+ year history.

  Some would certainly see no reason to be angry at an organization that publicly calls for the sacrifice of a living child (as J.R.Brown did re: the Canadain 16-year-old).

  Some would certainly see no reason to be angry at an organization that calls for the expulsion/shunning of children; and the expulsion/shunning of rape and molestion victims; and the expulsion/shunning of battering victims.

  Whatever were you thinking, anewperson?

  All of you do realize that these Rutherford books are already available on cd-rom?

  I have 'the harp of god' 1921 scanned as text, with study questions and scripture index; children the same, and am working on 'The truth shall make you free.' These are ongoing projects that have been going on for years by various volunteers in the cyber community.

  There is a ten-year gap or so of books not available on cd; starting from 'truth make free' up to 'qualified to be ministers'. Volunteers are needed badly for these, for the Watchtower is not making these books available to the public for a reason!!!

  In addition to this, although the Watchtower has many yearbooks available on their cd, the statistics are not on the cd. It says 'see yearbook' and someday I hope someone volunteers to go put those up. That's a big chore..

  One other thing desparately needed; the 'shining as illuminators' book. If someone could scan that to text and/or jpegs, that would be great. I don't have one, nor will I EVER have one. It doesn't turn up on ebay very often, either.

  glad people are out there doing this. AAHHH the Watchtower and that infamous 'paper trail'....
