How did you tie your tie?
by Mysterious inwas there a knot pecking order at your hall, or was this not the case.
(pardon the pun) http://www.tie-a-tie.net/ ugh and if anyone has more coherent directions for tying a windsor knot i'm all ears my piddly little fudged knot is the laughing stock of work.

I didn't feel an ounce of regret. In fact I am getting more excited again, just like I did last year (but the wife wasn't ready).

I hate having JW parents.
by reneeisorym ini'll try to make this long story short.. in october ... about 3 days before i left for a trip my mother decided to have my cell phone cut off.
i've had my bill in my mom's name since i was 16 and have always paid it since i was old enough to work.
but .. out of pure spite, she cut off my phone.

Yes, It is hard, very hard. I would plan my wedding as if it was for you and your spouse not for your parents (I know thats easier said than done). Don't let your parents being JW's wreck one of the most important days in your life.

As a DUB, what did you do and hid so as not to stumble anyone?
by megsmomma ini was thinking of all the "concious matters" that you could do if you wanted, but would not tell anyone so you wouldn't get in "trouble".
one thing that came to my mind is when after having my baby, i wanted to join weight watchers...there were two meeting places to choose from...one close to me and in a church....and one quite far not in a church.
well, i went to the one in the church, always worried someone would see me(but i didn't really think it was a big deal) so, what did you all hide?

Well, I wasn't a real good JW. Music was a major thing Rap, Hard Rock, Metal & Very Heavy Metal. Got drunk a few times. Gave booze to ones under 21 (but older than 18). Talked about things which JW's shouldn't.

How many JWs do you know do the turkey-thing (Thanksgiving) each year?
by cyberguy inits amazing how jws operate.
when i was an active jw in florida (usa), many jw families had a turkey dinner with friends and family on thanksgiving day!
in fact, a number of elders participated in these family get-togethers, they just happened to have a turkey dinner on the same day as the thanksgiving holiday (usa).

My parents always had a turkey diner (big one) on thanksgiving, as us kids got older we all went "home" with our wifes and kids. We even joked that it was our thanksgiving diner. But not on Christmas, just thanksgiving.

"Then say that you can do it through your shirt (or coat, if you're wearing one). Then go through the motions through your shirt, but let a real loud fart at the same time." That was so funny, believe it or not I have never heard that one. BUT I will be trying it at work.

just found this site today
by TopDog inthis is a great site, thank you to whoever started it.
i left the "truth" about 6 years ago and like many i still feel guilty about it.
my older brother lives in dominican republic, he moved there about 12 years ago to help where the need is greater.

Hi TopDog!
Glad you found the site. It truly is addictive. I completely agree with you, being raised jw, I appreciate the morals. I know I could have gotten them elsewhere too, but I am so glad I have them. We must alway find the silver lining.
Also, my sympathies on the loss of your grandfather and mother at such a young age. What heartbreak for you. I hope you will be reunited with them one day. I know I miss my grandfather terribly, and I was married and had a child before he passed (cancer). I daydream that he is happy and reunited with his dear loved ones and his baby brother George who died in infancy. That his brother Kenny is there and his friend Gene. I like to think one day I'll meet my great-grandmother who my grandmother thinks was the sweetest person to ever walk the earth. If she's anything like grandma, I'll love her to pieces:-) I don't think the jw's have the only winning ticket to paradise. There are too many good people in this world.
Have a good day-aye!
