Welcome to the site both "village idiot" and "WateredDown"
Without being to specific tell us about yourselves.
i have read the site with great interest over the last few weeks.
some interesting stuff thats for sure.. i have left the jehovah's witnesses (was almost going to say the 'truth') for some time now.
i was one of the lucky ones that was baptised then faded, no humiliating disfellowshipping but nonetheless was very hard to get myself out.

the outcomes of jehovah's witness court cases, to most first amendment scholars, the witness successes in court, especially the supreme court, were accidental.
legal scholars have uniformly dismissed the witnesses' methods for bringing about first amendment cases, referring to their legal successes as mere unintended consequences of fanatical preaching.
for example, legal scholar bernard schwartz noted that jehovah's witnesses, "who became involved in trouble with the law were only seeking to propagate their unpopular creed.

spear points dating to thousands of years before the flood (or even adam's alleged creation, for that matter) found preserved in situ among mammoth bones in naco, arizona.. or the 14,000 year-old footprint of a child at a mammoth hunting camp unearthed in a bog in monte verde, chile:.
the kicker is that this isn't even the oldest evidence for human settlement of the americas.
since the wt loves to trot out frozen mammoth carcasses as "proof" that mammoths died in the flood, who were these mammoth eaters in north america?

here is another one you could check out. Things like these are ubiquitous on the information superhighway we all call the net

Trust me there is a lot of scientific thought that goes into carbon dating. Look up accuracy of carbon dating on Wikipedia for a start. If a lot of it seems a little esoteric at first just focus on the real world, things like, why are there no native kangaroos in North or South America? Why are there no moose in Australia? Why do bacteria become immune to anti antibiotics? When you start to research (even on your own) any subjects like these in any depth your faith in a global flood will subside. That's why the Governing Body discourages higher education.
I forgot to say welcome to the forum.
some quick updates, mostly cosmetic:.
the message sending form should display better feedback of why a message is invalid (which will prevent the send button becoming active).. if your status is telling you that you have unread messages then you should see an option in the 'inbox' page to reset the count / mark all messages read.
just press it once, be patient - marking the actual messages is done in the background.. the topic and post counts are being updated - some will still be incorrect while it processes the data but after that should be correct.

Millie210 I don't think anyone or anything will be able to convince you to be a non believer in God, I don't think anyone should be trying to convince you, you can think for yourself.
The more we figure out about how things work in the universe the more questions keep arising its just how it is. I personally don't think god has any thing to do with it. I am not preachy about my opinions.
I didn't mind AR Crazy either the way he was, now that's preachy.

Crazy Guy wrote: Another thought that disproves the flood is the islands of Madagascar and Australia. On both of these islands the animals evolved to be unique to just that island.
It's always a good question to ask how did these animals get off the Ark on top of Mount Ararat and go to these places and these places only ?
As far as Neanderthals and the like budbayview ,they were just relatives of the Nephilim .LOL
i find that when talking people who say they "used to be a jehovah's witness" they say words that show they have in fact, never been one.
it's like a man that worked for the post office for 30 years in a main major urban hub like chicago or new york... and you ask him, "in your last position, what was your rdo?
" and the man says "whats an rdo?".
