Kerj2leev,
your turn to post something about yourself
unlike the secret meetings that the watchtower conducts for judicial matters, its apparent that the early church was open to all members.
on the matter of gentiles being circumcised, it would seem that the entire congregation at jerusalem was present as matters were discussed.
(acts 15:4,5, 12) also, in the case of the incestuous man in corinth, paul's appeal was to the entire congregation.

(Acts 15:4,5, 12) Also, in the case of the incestuous man in Corinth, Paul's appeal was to the entire congregation. (1 Co. 5:4) And if the man is the same as mentioned in 2 Co. 2:6 he notes that "the punishment inflicted on him BY THE MAJORITY is sufficient for him." ( Does this imply that there was a minority that did not agree with the punishment and kept associating? )
exactly.
That is how it was done, publically, not in secret, and since the WTBTS claim to be followers of the Bible ''to the letter'', they are hypocritical, and have proven to be false to it's power.

I squeegee myself off with my hands after taking a shower. Hey, it helps keep my towel dry! - jourles
so does my husband! he squeegees dries himself. then gets a towel.
Me, I can usually estimate groups of small multiple items like 500 marbles, 1000 toothpicks, 300 jellybeans, etc within 10-20.
I keep track of time in my head, I can know the time just by the looking outside at the shadows. I usually am only off by 5 minutes.
even at night.
once I dreamt it was 6:45 am, and when I opened my eyes, it was 6:45, no word of a lie.
I can set an alarm clock in my head before sleeping, so that I can wake up at a certain time.
I can touch the tip of my nose with my tongue, and the bottom of my chin and my cheek, but not at the same time.
I still do cartwheels, round off's and handstands in my living room for fun.
I look 10-12 years younger than I really am. Not being immodest or flaunting that, just repeating what people tell me. and because of my babyface, strangers ask me ALL THE TIME what my age is.
i know there is a thread on field service reports, but i thought this was interesting.. we are always told to hand in our reports at the end of the month.. one scripture used to support this unbiblical practice is proverbs 25:25. the nwt says: 25as cold water upon a tired soul, so is a good report from a distant land.. if you visit the site below, all but one translation uses the phrase "good news.".
do you think the society deliberately mistranslated this scripture to support the field service reporting arrangement?.
http://bible.cc/proverbs/25-25.htm.
the mistake is calling our FS timecards, ''reports''
they are not reports, as they contain no news.
they are a summary of hours and placements, a better term for them would be ''time & placement summary or account''
whether you were over the wt or not, how has the forum helped you?.
does it still help you or are you here strictly to help others?.
did the forum get you through any rough times?
It gives a measure of satisfaction knowing I am not alone, that I have something in common with a group of people,
You here are like my family, we support one another, we have differences of opinions, we can fight and squabble, just like every other family, but even despite our differences we all have one thing in common - we were JW's or we we are JW's or we know JW's. We all contribute in our own way to one another, and that is what makes a community.
i remember one windy summer day, after a meeting on sunday morning, i walked out of the hall behind a sister who was part of the church congregation with her two teenage children.
her husband did not attend.
the wind caught her dress unexpectedly and blew it up a'la marilyn monroe and revealed that she was wearing (shock, horror) french knickers...... there were a few murmers behind me which i at the time put down to things like "oh poor girl, so embarrassing".
Someone PLEASE tell me what french knickers are!
are they like g-strings, thongs? or are they more like booty shorts? (where half of the bum cheeks peek out of the bottom)
Thanks!
i'm going to put my head on the block here... and possibly alienate some of you in doing so.
i'm new to the forum.
forgive me, i don't have time to read up the whole history of threads here, much as i'd love to, so if this subject has been discussed already (as i'm sure it must have) then apologies .
not at all j, I know you are very intelligent.
I just have trouble sometimes fully grasping what you have written (my stupidity!)....I sometimes feel like a 4th grader trying to read at university level, lol

Hi alotlikemay,
Actually, i feel pretty much the same way you do about Jesus. I am just going to share with you my feelings and opinons. I am not preaching. (I am too much of a sinner to be preaching to others)
I love how non-judgemental He was of sinners while on earth.
I agree with james thomas, as much as I try to make sense of what he is saying...(he writes so much more intelligently than i), that our love of Jesus should be without judgement of others. (Not saying that I think you are judgemental of others, it doesnt seem like you are at all.)
What anyone else does or feels is up to them, IMO, but for me, I love the man that walked the earth as God's son. Sometimes I find it hard to believe in the Bible, with all the contradictions, the odd way that the OT has a wrathful, vengeful god, and the NT has a more loving, more forgiving god. The catalyst to that change in God's personality being Christ's birth. But that this is simply my opinion. And I am more than willing to admit to being wrong.
I just love Jesus, I could feel his anguish when he cried out, Father, Father, why have you forsaken me? I feel so much appreciation for what he did for his fellow humans...am I a Jesus proclaimer? or preacher? no....I keep my feelings about Him to myself,....but that is just me. (not that I think others should do likewise, or should agree with me, i am merely sharing my feelings and thoughts.) If others want to preach Jeus to the masses, great! I just dont think I'm the person for that job
