  i understand from bible.ca website that weigall(?

  ),who they quote to prove the trinity is false, also says that docrines that christ is an angel have a pagan origin also!.

  so wt has been preaching a doctrine of pagan origin all along..

  Reading this thread made me think about the Bible.
  Although, I do not adhere to nor support any religion
  per say, I think the Bible has certain values in life.
  
  Whether or not an individual believes it is God's
  word or not, one fact that is certain is that
  it has stood the test of time.

  I too do not adhere to any religion, and never will return to a christian based religion...but I agree that the Bible has value, was written with wisdom, especially proverbs, and even tho I am not a believer, I respect your viewpoint, and agree with you that the Bible has stood the test of time with the principles of how to treat one another. I really enjoy a discussion where there are no insults hurled, just shared opinions and thoughts with one another.

  this statement was often echeod to me during my formative years.

  i remember my very first day of elementary school (stateside) at the age of 4. my parents were flustered because they couldn't believe they actually had to start their only child into public school to begin with; after all, the end was right around the corner!

  this was 1984, the year the first apple mac was introduced, 80's music was loud and in your face, the delorean was cool, and miami vice was just in production.

  I can't remember any "worldly" kids who had nightmares about Santa or the Easter Bunny not being real...BUT I do remember myself having a few sleepless nights about being tossed into an Armageddon induced crevice because I wasn't worthy enough.

  I used to have HORRIBLE nightmares of armegeddon....

  fire and people burning alive, lighting and hail and buildings that were falling in on everyone...they were the most vivid, graphic dreams I ever had (next to the wet dreams, but that's another topic). Shortly after reading apostate info, and learning about the Borg, the lies and the deceit, I stopped having nightmares of Armegeddon....

  I too was told to not go to Uni, A was right around the corner!, so I didnt, to the chagrin of my guidance counsellor, and teachers....ah well, no use being bitter about that (tho it is tempting!) gotta just use my life right now, the way I see fit, and find my way to happiness...

  i was thinking about all the various people who the bible says have been killed by jehovah or his angels for various acts of disobedience.

  here are a few of the ones i thought of....feel free to add your own eating a piece of fruit (slow death, 930 years) picking up some sticks on the sabbath preventing the ark of the covenant from falling when the guy carrying it stumbles living in a city where your family has lived for generations, in a region where jehovah has "given" the land to his "chosen" people dancing for your victorious warrior father, not knowing he has vowed to offer the first one out of the house as a burnt offering.

  Lithium?

  recently one of my brothers was diagnosed with bi-polar disorder by a psychiatrist.

  this has hit me hard emotionally because out of the whole bunch we are the closest.

  i've always suspected something was up.

  My Aunt was diagnosed 7 years ago, has been on lithium since then, and it keeps her very even keel. I dont know all the side effects, but i do know one: you must drink alot of water because it can make you constipated.

  She really appreciates her meds, as she had crazy wild swings before on them...now she can lead a successful and normal life. It doesnt make you sleepy or drugged up. just keeps you balanced. i'll get more info from her and let you know more.

  my fathers arguement is always that the fds is not inspired so their humanity causes them to get things wrong.

  they are merely spirit directed.

  i realized a main flaw in this arguement last night.

  When doctrines have to be scrapped, the friends are reminded that the "slave" is not inspired, and thus makes mistakes. Okay, fine. But intellectually honest people would not demand that their fellow Christians give unquestioning agreement and submission to uninspired teachings that are subject to change. The inspired apostles themselves didn't even show such flagrant arrogance.

  My theory was that the computer geeks (at the direction of the WTS) at Brooklyn did some hackin'......but it was probably just down for maintenance?
