  what's the silliest thing you ever heard a jw say?.

  (besides, the possible, "anything they say is silly.

  my personal favorite: an elder once said to me at a circuit assembly back in the eighties (and why i don't remember...maybe i was smirking): "you think the devil is weak?

  My mother on spanking me even if I had done nothing wrong: "It's what Jehovah wants me to do."

  Another hilarious one: One young nerdy JW, whose own father was the Elder conducting the Watchtower study article for that week, pops up with his answer to young people and their morality: "I don't listen to pop music, it's the beat of sex."
  No one laughed, at first, until the father Brother M-- says rather embarassed, "Well, that's my boy."

  Okay, this one didn't really seem that funny on the screen, I guess you had to be there.

  Oh yeah, is it true that they, the GB, are given cars (Olds?), while the "worker" Bethelites are forced to take the subway to the Kingdom Halls they are assigned to?

  Reborn: the thing about resurrected wives and husbands, I've heard that one several times growing up, even from my parents...it always weirded me out...I remember thinkin' sex was going to be limited to a select few if the JWs by a fat chance were right about the New Kingdom.
  Like, wouldn't they (the resurrected ones) have some memory of sex with their old partners? Hellooooo.sexual jealousy!...or did god give them selective amnesia...or, was it going to be something like being spayed and nuetered?
  And what about virgins? what a rip off! having to be chaste and all that..then you find yourself resurrected in the new kingdom and god tells you, "sorry, no nookie for you!"

  One other incident: My dad and I were doing field serivce another dumbass elder shortly after the "Return of the Jedi" came out. Dad mentioned to him about how I felt that my parents had to get rid of their Moody Blues LP because it had a wizard on the front cover. (Of course, my father didn't tell him in response to their throwing away all my Star Wars stuff b/c Yoda was doing levitation in the 2nd Star Wars movie...)
  So, Brother P asks me: So, Justin what you do if I offered you something that everyone has but it has an occult symbol on it?"
  Figuring this was a trick question, I told him, "No way...it's what Satan would want me to do."
  Bro. P takes out a dollar bill from his pocket and shows me the pryamid on the back. "So you don't like moeny? But it's Satanic!"
  Unexpectedly, I grab the dollar bill out of his hand...and as the saying goes, "A Fool and his money...."

  finally got my thoughts gathered to share......

  i am relatively new to the board and have to say have never had such a heartwarming welcome from so many people!

  it feels so comforting to make new friends that "understand" where i have come from.. i have read many many stories, and have sat back in awe....wow, what stories.

  mine is quite simple, but none-the-less my story.
