Terrorists get 70 Virgins in Heaven?
by Lin ini heard on the radio this morning that the terrorists believed that once they got to heaven, they each would be given 70 virgins to enjoy for all eternity.

Anyone still bothered by the demons?
by wednesday inhi i'm wednesday and born and raised in jw.-inactive several years.
i have had a number of iincidents that appear to demonic've had spirit beings sit on my bed at ight and talk to me i've been literally touched by things unseen.
now i know the jw are big on demon stuff.

I use to have a recurring dream, where these long green scaly arms with clawed hands would reach out of the dark and try to grab me, while i would scream for help in vain in a panic.........[gasp]......then i stopped eating pepperoni pizza before going to bed.....i never had demonic dream encounters again!!!!![whew] rocky220

Can "Wordly" people go to book studies?

my dub friend invited me to her church (whatever) one sunday, which i of course i went - it was ok - nothing special, except i know what you mean about being "love bombed".
my question.... do any non-dubs go to the weekly bookstudies?

my resignation from the board a few weeks back was part of this.

i agree with JT, i found that although out since late 70's, i had unresolved anger and resentment,towards my disfellowshipping, but in finding out how inappropriately it was done, i not only am able to heal from the pain caused by the injustice of it but also am able to forgive the Elders for being so sincere yet so misguided and finally free myself of all this baggage!!!!rocky220

Whats the dumbest thing you were counselled for?
by Beck_Melbourne ini was once counselled by the elders for watching 'knots landing'....it became widely known in the congregation that me and a few other sisters would rush home from field service to watch our favourite soapie.
if we missed it, we would ring each other up for an update...or...if we weren't near a tv we would ask someone to put the phone handset on the top of their tv so we could hear it...pathetic huh...but that was all the excitement we could scrounge up in our otherwise dull and uneventful lives.
one of the elder's wive's conscience got the better of her...and she confessed to her husband..lol.

Going out disco dancing and coming home at wee hours of the morning......mind you i wasnt even going to KH at the time....i was fading out, but dear mom used the elders to "put me in line".

Which did you prefer? Watchtower or Awake?
by LDH inwhen i was a jw, i really couldn't stomach the watchtowers.
the only articles i would read would be for the family study/watchtower study.
it seemed so archaic and old-people-ish.. i did read the awake from cover to cover almost every time.
