Gee, that's really remarkable, Tallyman. But I can't see the image to clearly. Could you please take a few of those bills, make the fold and send them to me so that I can get a real good look? Thanks.

Does Watchtower Society monitor this board?
by Quotes ini've seen it mentioned many times in many threads: "the society monitors jwd, don't post anything you don't want them to know etc.
i have even made that point myself in the past.. my question is this: does the wtbts monitor this discussion board?.
or have we all been propagating our own xjw urban myth?.

Hii dedaisy:
Why do you believe that a non JW would not be a good monitor? In my opinion, it would actually be the best monitor the WTBTS could have. They would not have to involve their own people in reading apostate sites and if were put into the hands of professional strangers who promised confidentiality they would have nothing to worry about. A monitor could undergo training just like any other job so that he would know what to look for (just as an example) could be asked to write down congregations, states, countries. Unknowingly, perhaps, we actually give out a lot of information on this forum. In fact, an outsider could possibly present a more balanced opinion of what is happening in the "apostate world".

what's the silliest....
by dustrabbit inwhat's the silliest thing you ever heard a jw say?.
(besides, the possible, "anything they say is silly.
my personal favorite: an elder once said to me at a circuit assembly back in the eighties (and why i don't remember...maybe i was smirking): "you think the devil is weak?

Hey, gsx: Where is baseball mentioned in the Bible? Genesis 1:1 says In the big inning.
What was the name of Paul's horse? Isme. You know, in the Bible Paul says, "whoa! Isme." (woe is me)
Okay, okay, I'll stop.

I think a disassociation letter will nullify your baptism, the problem is the shunning factor. There is no such thing as an annullment within the organization where you can just walk away because they make all the rules.

An elder held up a green bible and said that if the society tells me this bible is blue, then I'll believe its blue! He was five bottles short of a six pack if you ask me.

JW Family Tries Black-Mailing Me
by Prisca ini have spent the last week or so with my sister and bro-in-law and my 6year old niece, all jws.
they live in a town not too far away from me, and i visit them every couple of months or so.
my sister and i are close, not extremely so, but we appreciate each other as we have no other bros & sisters, our mother died 21yrs ago, and our father treats us as though we are dead too (due to non-jw issues).. last time i went to visit them, my bro-in-law asked my niece to ask me if i'd go to the meeting.

Prisca, it's just so unfair that they are unable to respect your decision. My family thinks that by getting me to read something out of the watchtower, I will see the error of my ways and run back to the Kingdom Hall. Not bloody likely!

Too much bad language, sex & pics
by Simon inplease can everyone think twice before they make posts containing bad language (even if not directed at individuals), graphic sex talk and nude or semi-nude pictures (especially if explicit).
this is not what the forum is here for.
if you want to post stuff like that then there are lots of places on the internet for it and, more importantly, if people want to see and read stuff like that then they are quite capable of going to these places themselves.. i know everyone likes to 'let their hair down' now and again, me included, and i like pictures of sexy women as much as anyone .

Just because I am no longer one of jehovahs witnesses does not mean that I have left all moral sense and decency behind. Call me a prude if you will but all the sex and porn makes me uncomfortable and like Simon said if you want to be titilated by that sort of thing there are plenty of other places on the web for you to go. This site should be reserved for the purpose it was intended. Even a locked adult site is absolutely unwarranted, in my opinion. Why not just get your friends together and go to one of those "adult" sites together. Why must it be done here?
