More Evidence that "666" refers to United Nations

a new book claims that the number 666 refers to the united nations through the name "haaretz haqaturim", which means "the nations of the united ones.

" commonly known as the number of the beast, the number 666 is from the thirteenth chapter of the book of revelation in the christian bible where verse 18 reads: .

"here is wisdom.

The elders serving whose interests?

the wts claims that the elders are an arrangement by jehovah to lovingly take care of his flock.

this is a typically misleading statement by the fds using the usual smooth talking and references to a divine connection to deceive the r&f.

neither the elders are jehovah's arrangement nor the jws are jehovah's flock.

It's interesting because, Jesus says that " if your eye is making you stumble, tear it off and throw it away from you " in several translations, so you could argue that the elders are serving the greater interest.

But one thing that has always got me, is that Jehovahs Witnesses always first want to check your interest " in the truth " before showing kindness - and all fear apostasy like some kind of Kryptonite - apostasy to them simply is someone who disagrees with their viewpoint, regardless of how well backed up their sciptural viewpoint will be.

But one always wonders with the elders because, it can be well documented how wrong so many aspect of JWitness belief system are, but at the same time they also have alot right - we can debate this for time - but elders always look at " the truth " first and formost and whatever stands in the way of your dedication is an obstruction to your spiritual wellbeing and future safety. I would love to see what goes on behind closed doors in elders meetings, but despite offering they never taped me one. Then you have say, you are convicted of sexual immorality, especially as a woman sat before a bunch of men (some of whom I know are rather 'slimey') being asked for the details - I could argue this is sick but then , in the news this week a church going couple, married 25 years were discovered to be running a porn site and she was a swinging lesbian - yet the church took no disciplinary action - they [ the main churches ] even now try to suggest the bible does not support the concept of marriage before sex - so the Jehovahs Witnesses win some points back there.

Proof of God's existence

from a logical point....i notice that in these threads that there are few here who dont believe in god..but i hate to tell you your dead wrong for having such an ignorant belief like that..instead ya,ll are blaming religion, people, and your personal problems for your lack of faith in god..thats dead wrong.

the non-believers are not looking at the whole picture..just the present..the things that go on in the world happen for a reason and it doesnt mean god doesnt exist.

the bible says "the fool has said in his heart god doesnt exist".

It's funny that as stated earlier, religious people always try to scapegoat the Devil for the evils of man, rather than own up to the concept of wickedness that is a capacity within us all. In a horrendous crime you will see, rather than worshipping Satan, the perpetrator endured hardships, social frustrations, and more - these are the causes of crime along with addictions and the like. You may like to know that the crime rate of a given nation, often appears at first glance to mirror the unemployment level, at first glance. Satan involved?

It is a foolish self inflicted wound to blame Satan for the worlds ills, ( I often think he could do with a better public relations department ) The killing of Jamie Bulger - often being sited as his work, rather than a couple of Pond Scum. Let's face it - social deprivation is the biggest problem. A lot of evil can be traced to the resentment of exclusion. We should look I think, at life with open eyes rather than closed.

The world is a much less evil place than you think. Three hundred years ago, children were starving to death on the street of London, England. Today that would be unthinkable. People say it's an evil world where money is our master and wicked, well - that's ridiculous too. Remove money and the world collapses overnight. We have a system for a reason.

The bottom line is this - study Physics. The Universe clearly has a beginning ( we can tell from the bending of lights in the Universe ) but, carbon dating aside - we know the world is definately VERY old. In the words of a Scientist I know " I wouldn't argue it " [ the existence of God ] We know for a fact, that whilst humans were on the Earth, Antartica was where Africa is now - and it was most likely LONG AGO - read Maps of the Ancient Sea Kings by Charles Hapgood.

There is enough evidence and counter evidence in all things not to be sure - open your eyes - small tip. Don't let a mind control religion blind your mind - " Religion is a Snare and a Racket " remember ??????

In the words of Jesus to the Pharisees ' If you were blind you would have no sin, yet you say we see, your sin remains. ' Jehovahs Witnesses therefore are guiltiest of all.

Feed the Poor or Help the WT? (Mt 25:40 Christ's "Brothers")

some bible passages i can vaguely remember reading as child without the borg blinders on.

this would usually happen after a speaker introduced a single "proof text" verse in a talk and then i'd keep on reading in the bible instead of staying in sync with the borg software download.

Well, this is one of my favourite ANTI JW Scriptures (purely because I'm wicked and oppose the good news and Jehovahs sovereignty ) but unfortunately, our conclusions fall flat in one major area : " To the least of my BROTHERS " (RSV bible "brethren" ) jesus is also heard to state that " The one doing the WILL OF MY FATHER that one is my brother and sister and mother" So it does state that we serve our brothers in Christ only - however, what is the will of God ?

There are however, many scriptures that say the righteousness of he/she who gives to the poor shall endure forever.

Personally I dont consider the WTB&TS as particularly poor - who at one point used Mt 25:40 as more whipping to get you to go on the ministry, stating that you were feeding and clothing christ brothers (the annointed ) by selling WT material (Im not making this up) so why didn't Jesus just say " support my brothers in the annointing work instead of waffling ?)

Who masterminded the WT mind control 'routine'? Was it deliberate?

is the wt policy of five meetings a week, daily text, book study prep, book study, thursday meeting prep, thursday meeting, watchtower pre study, public talk, watchtower study, a deliberate ploy to keep the members under mind control?.

is this 'routine' carefully thought out and planned by someone or did the watchtower society just evolve this way 'accidentally'?.

is there a 'mastermind' at work aiming to keep jws tightly under mind control and if so , who is it?.

The finger of blame surely points at one man, Joseph Rutherford. This is the guy of unbelievable intelligence, and no morals. The format of two speakers, one on the right and on on the left is very characteristic of a hypnotistic session (don't believe me, buy some hypnotism tapes)

It is without a shadow of a doubt, this man who is the mastermind behind it all. Of course, the society will say it is all for our protection, as Satans system is overpowering.

Of course, this doesn't prove anything : the simple "fact" is that

As far as it goes - this will be of no good to convince Dubyas who have been lost to the brainwashing of the Org.

Well, it's always fashionable to debate things like this these days ! First of all, Historians doubted and laughed at the Bibles account that Solomon had I think it was ten thousand horses - " No one could ever be that rich !" lo and behold , the vast complex that they were kept in was discovered( I believe it is recorded in 'The Bible as history') but they still won't leave it alone.

Jesus IS a more fascinating question. I think it is Gerald Massey who is an expert on the 'Egyptian Origins of Jesus' who casts more doubt on the subject than is probably healthy. (Satan in his cleverness prepared an elaborate set of myths ahead of time to mislead the world from peddling the Watchtower) then there is the Roman Sun God (name escapes me as I sit here) who came to save us all from sin, lamb of god, twelve disciples (list goes on!) purely coincidence - naturally. But I think, when we see that there are other Gospels outside the ones in the Bible that give us a fascinating insight into the life of THAT MAN , such as the Gospel of Thomas 'Why do you love her [Mary Magdalene] more than us?' it makes a good case that he was really here ????

How much control does the WTS really have?

a theme regularly running through ex-jw / apostate posts is their conviction that the worship of jws is at best of a high control basis or at worst exhibits cult-like tendencies , so they often delight in the freedom that they now enjoy.. but in reality , how much control is exhibited on the average witness?

to take one example , at least 40k are dfd in an average year , and one would assume 3 - 5x this figure are reproved privately or publicly.

that means that over a 10 year period 20% - 25% of jws are seriously flouting the strongest moral code of jws , usually for immorality , emphasized in wt after wt , meeting after meeting.

I find that a rather strange question !! I think the problem stems more down to insinuation , far more than actual - ' You must not ' or similar lines , although the Watchtower has frequently stated Jesus words ' My followers are no part of this world' and stretched it with comments such as ' Christians cannot move to the moon' cleverly insinuating that there is great peril outside the Org, and without actually realising it, you grow a subconscious fear of all things outside, especially mixing with outsiders for fear that you may be misled ( Kind of like a group of lions isolating its prey - trapped from out side help) Their pictures are also highly suggestive, I remember well over a decade ago reading an Awake article which showed a Christian (Witness) being invited into a pub - which he refused. This cutting off from Society surely does not give a very good Witness !

The scriptures are a gold mine for gaining control - a relative of mine who has recently become a Witness, one of the first scriptures they knew of by heart, down to page and verse was ' Beware of Bad associations.' You can see from that fact, the power of the Org beginning to gain control. Once in there's little coming out the scriptures say ' make sure of all things' yet a witness is not allowed to read anything contrary, "apostate" and is greatly discouraged from reading bible literature produced elsewhere - despite the huge quality of work produced by eminent biblical scolars. I can agree with avoiding the work of the likes of the Archbishop of Canterbury who reportedly does not even believe in God but this is bordering on ridiculous.

The society controls almost all aspects of your life through its articles, even down to releasing articles on what is acceptable communication (in Gods sight) in the Bedroom with your wife ( Who is the third person in the marriage - God - there is no biblical mention of a fourth - the WTS) Who assigned these clowns authority to control our lives to such a degree?

Oh wait, " the faithful and discreet slave." - appointed by his master over all his belongings, and the marvelous truths that have been uncovered ( such as 1975,1925, 1874, 2000(!) the generation of 1914 , the date 1914, ) Only enthusiasm to see the end of this wicked system , just like Jesus apostles. Yet they conceal the greatest wickedness of all.........................

What if you put an envelope in the box- "For the Lawsuits" ?

another thread made a similar suggestion, so i thought what if....?.

what would happen if you put an envelope in the donation box with a check, and on the .

envelope (also on the comments portion of the check) it said "for the child-abuse lawsuits".

We're just filthy apostates who don't want to accept the truth - (agents of Satan) Jehovah must be so mad at us for obstructing the good work at this critical time of the end - think of all the lives we are jeopardising. Where's our love for our fellow humans ? Satans just trying to obstruct gods work , blah blah.

Jesus to the pharisees " If you were blind you would have no sin, yet you say we see, your sin remains.". Unlike other religions, Jobos Witnesses are constantly shouting out how ungodly they all are because of A , B , C . So therefore - they knowing better, are the most reprehensible of all.

I'll have try that, putting money in the contribution box for lawsuits, not real money mind - those animals dont deserve it. Their KHs are stained with blood over children anyhow.

How the Religious View Homosexuality

for people who are still religious, what are your views on gays?.

for me (an atheist) it goes against my own morality to think of them as sinners or somehow doing wrong, and yet in the bible it teaches that it is wrong.

it's one of the main reasons i could never go along with the jws.. i'm curious how religious people address this issue.

Well, the religiously unenlightened amongst us will spout them all as devils and disgusting freaks and prejudice and all that - it is now finally considered a hate crime.

Well, the religious. God created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve. But there is, without getting politically correct - more to it than that.

We now like in an age of Science and we know what caused homosexuality, it is different for each Gender. Particularly in men, homosexuality is caused and contributed to by an excess of female hormone in the brain( both genders fluctuate with both) but sometimes in forming in the womb or through emotional trauma later in life - the balance is thrown off. Relgious prejudice of ' You chose to be wicked' is offensive, because many 'Gays' swear they were born that way, and some boys exhibited female behaviour very early on and throughout life, despite having 'normal ' upbringing and 'normal' siblings. This is proof that homosexuality exists on a chemical level. We as men were all conceived female !

If I, although being a religious person am against homosexuality, then that is for me because the people who are 'gay' may not believe what I believe. A relative of mine abused two lesbians round the shop recently - " Thats not in the Bible" he said ! That's disgraceful - they might not even believe the Bible! If the bible condemns homosexuality, that means I as a follower of that belief system - cannot be gay.

If someone else chooses to be then that is their wish - same as what convinces me to believe in what I believe wouldn't convince others. I firmly believe that one can be a ' Christian ' and not hate Gays, yet fit that in without twisting scripture - it is wrong in Gods eyes but there are extra reasons beyond what you read. You can't be gay and a christian but then - if you are Gay deep down - can you keep lying to yourself?
