My mother, 78 years old, calls my divorced sister, 55 years old, and quizzes my sister on what she studied for family study night. My 24 year old nephew, last one still home, gets to be studied with by his mom that night. My sister has been known to lie to our mother about what really went on that night. I wonder if God is happy when my sister decides to do something else that night besides study his precious spiritual food. I know I'm happy about it when she forgoes the Watchtower garbage.

I had to hurt my kids this weekend... it sucks
by Aussie Oz ini have been in a world of pain this weekend.. some of you know the ongoing battle i have had with my ex wife, an uber dub hypocrite, over seeing my kids more.
3 weeks ago i managed to secure an agreement from her that provided my 13 yr old daughter friday night to sunday afternoons and for my 16 yr old son to have friday night to sat afternoon with the option to extend it to sunday if he so desires.
this is each second weekend.. first due weekend visit she rearranged the days so that she was technically pre agreement start date.

You did the right thing. THis behavior on the part of your wife needs to be brought to the attention of a judge...the creating of other plans for the children to try to keep their time with you limited...and a cease and desist order sought.

Is the vindication of God's name taught in mainstream Christianity?
by pirata ini always found it odd that god would be so fixated on his good name that so many others would have to suffer so that he could say "see, i was right!
i told you so!"..
is the vindication of god's name/sovereignty a teaching unique to jw's, or is this also taught in mainstream christianity?.

"Count me in with the folks that have some questions to ask of God."
Choosing Life, I am with you there. But I really begin to think that the God of the Bible was made by man in the image that man chose for him, at least in the Old Testament. And in the New Testament, I think the only thing to be truly counted on are the Gospel accounts. Jesus truly did give us something to emulate. However, I find it difficult to believe that Christianity is the one true religion. I think all religions are made up primarily of man-made ideas, including the vindication of God's name.

When I was in fifth grade, my best friend and I won a three-legged race. Does that count?

I agree with restrangled and Sylvia. Your wife is spoiled. When my kids were growing up, I did not work out of the home. My husband supported us. I never expected him to do any cleaning whatsoever. He took care of the yard and home repairs and I cleaned house and the grocery shopping, laundry, and cooking. As my sons got old enough, they took over the yard work.
You need to go for counseling. Truthfully, you and your wife need to go for marital counseling, but good luck on that one. Good little dubby will most likely not be willing to do that.
She is not showing respect for you. You do need to stand up for yourself. But I think you need to get counseling to get your mind sorted out as to what direction you want to go.

Faders are indeed a very large doormat
by moshe insorry, to be so blunt- for a whole day i have watched people here patting themselves on the back- we're a large army, oohh, look out wt, we might do something, well not today or tomorrow, but someday!
maybe, i have to just accept that a lot of jw's who are exiting the kh by the back door will never find a backbone to stand up to mummy and elder daddy.. jw's have a learned ability to see themselves in a better light than everyone else sees them.
ask a jw, if they are a charitable religion and they would likely all say they are, but when pressed to name a charity they will be unable to do so.

Not all of us have been on here patting ourselves on the back. Some, like me, are busy just living their lives, free of the Watchtower at last and want to leave it in the dust.
