was the threat that anyone who was not doing gods will, would suffer the loss of their life.

during the great day of god almighty.. what affect did that have on you?the fear brought on by this doomsday message probably kept me in the organ-.

Fear of Dying = Fear of Hellfire. Pretty much the same thing other churches use. The funny thing is that any "Torture" you receive while on earth for leaving the org is MUCH WORSE that simply dying forever. IMO.

i am curious, what amount people on this board from their experiences of being a baptised & active jw and their subsequent exit from the jw org (for whatever reason or reasons) are now either agnostic, atheist or do some actually still believe in god?.

A JW in america will be considered bad association for watching any R-rated film, but in Canada, where there's no rating system, Elders watch the same film with immunity.

MySpace is dying...

lately i've noticed more and more jw groups on myspace seem to be disappearing and losing members.

at first i egotistically thought might have something to do with my efforts (i sometimes suffer from delusions of grandeur).

however, a couple posts came to my attention on two of the private jw groups.... .

But all my Dub friends are on it. I got into a big fight with the wife over it. She doesn't know I have a profile.

How Often Do You Pray?

i know this might sound silly, but one of the most annoying things i find about my mom being a jw is how often she prays.

normally, i would never criticize someone for praying to god, but she prays in such a way that makes me angry for some reason.

i mean, you dont have to be a friggin rocket scientist to work out the logistics of 6 billion+ corpses on the face of the earth!

to be honest, i know its a lot of bullshit but it intrigues/angers me to think back to some of the ludicrous converstaions i overheard regarding the murder of 6 billion+ people in the 'near' future.

hello people, i live in australia so maybe this is old news to you guys who live in the usa, but in the australian nov km its has an insert regarding blood, maybe you usa guys got it on oct, but it seems to me that they are watering down the blood issue,.

for the first time they are letting the reader ask themselves the question about how their conscience would feel regarding taking blood, this has never being the case before, theyve always said a christian would not do thisa christian would not do that.

im sure you guys have read the insert, any views????

does anyone here remember the infamous cabbage patch doll stampede when someone got trampled to death in a store, and ensuing jw response?

oh how i remember them going on about it being a sign armageddon is coming because people are going crazy.

Can't pray for disfellowship person

i just learn from my wife and step-kids that you (jw) can't pray for someone that is disfellowshipped.

is this true, if so can someone explain and show scriptures as to how they apply it?
