  Did they make a downloadble Crisis of Conscience?

  Make sure you get the latest edition which I believe is 2002.

  a close friend studies with one of the jw's.

  during one of their recent studies, my friend raised the topic of wt contradictions (flip-flops) using the classic resurrection (or not) of the ancient ones from sodom and gomorrah.

  one can show where there are 7 flip-flops on this doctrine.

  Shouldn't someone be in Prison for all this??

  if we are to be outraged for the alleged child sex within the flds - shouldn't the same outrage be applied to the government that paid for these large corporations to defraud their own country - including the allegations of child prostitution?

  let's just shut down the war and clean house already.. we get news that "a panel of whistleblowers" testifying before a senate committee yesterday dropped a dime on their employer, military contractor dyncorp (among others).

  the most explosive part of the testimony involved a contract manager, a misappropriated armored car, and prostitutes: a contractor died when a dyncorp manager used an employee's armored car to transport prostitutes, according to barry halley, a worldwide network services employee working under a dyncorp subcontract.

  I watched CSpan last night and heard 3 whistleblowers testify. It is really sickening what Bush & Cheney's buddies are getting away with over there.

  Too bad the Congressional hearings don't seem to be having too much impact.

  One lady that worked in Iraq had sons there also. One told her not to use the ice because they transported it in the same trucks they loaded the dead bodies in.

  Very disturbing testimony from all three people.

  Old JW memories.

  with all the talk about the book study recently i couldn't help recalling the old 'group' we used to go to from about 1970. i remember the smell of those books, the drone of the study conductor and the struggle - often in vain - to keep my eyes open.. i remember my old ministry briefcase and the kitchen of the sister where we used to meet for field service.

  she was my best friends mum.

  i can still feel the biting wind at twickenham conventions and the overheated, dehydrating stuffiness of bowes rd assembly hall.. i remember shuffling the snow with my shoes at the doors of homes i didn't want to be at.

  I only remember 2 CBS vividly. 1) we arrived and I (a young teen) walked up the front steps. Just as I got to the top step I tripped and fell face down across the porch. Sooo embarrassing. 2) I was about 18 and the study was at my aunt's house where I was living at the time. There were about 10 people present. No one raised their hand to answer a question the whole study except me. I was rather shy and waited several seconds for someone to raise their hand to comment. Nothing. Turned out the whole study the conductor asked the question and I read the answer out of the book. How weird was that meeting!

  At the 1958 Convention at Yankee Stadium / Polo Grounds my father took me and my brother (10 & 8 yo) to one of the museums during a break in the sessions. We rode the subway which went under the Hudson River. The subway broke down while we were under the river and we were stuck there for an hour or two. Fortunately my mom stayed at the room with my sister (6 wks old). (Yep - I don't remember anything about the convention - only the subway - and a magnified drop of water in the museum showing all the 'critters' in our drinking water.)

  Can any religion that has changed their doctrines so many times be "the truth" - and then forbid us to question or disagree with them?

  I stumbled across a link to some interesting letters last night in a post that a 'brother' from South Africa had written to the Governing Body. There are 4 different letters written while he held various positions in the congregation including Elder for a while. He posted both his letters and the WTS response. Very interesting how they just blew him off.

  i've always wanted to ask this question to those that have decided to leave the organization.. what will you do when the great tribulation begins?.

  right now folks, a lot is happening in the political world.. gordon brown (prime miniter of england) last week gave a speech to the un stating that it is time for the un to step in and solve the world's problems, (specifically mentioning the economy and hunger crisis worldwide.).

  barrack obama is shaping up to be the next president, a fellow who sure knows how to persuade and lead great crowds.

  Family situation

  just looking for a bit of good advice, my daughter and son in law have been dfd and i have two great grandsons, elders on patrol realise have been communicating and are now arranging for a meet with co in two weeks, they saw fit to remove what limited priveledges i still hold with all that stuff about disloyalty, sharer in wicked works etc.

  so now too visit and hug grandsons may release the damocletian sword, are any of you guys stll in touch with close family even if still in - have you had major run ins with the boe in similar situations.oh, i dont need a get out clause for the moment.
