Ever hear an experience at an assembly that you KNOW was slanted?
by Bonnie_Clyde ini remember one at a district assembly.
a brother was being interviewed as to why he never chose over time work at his job.
he said he worked for a small printing company and that he was content with working regular hours.

POLL: Would You Ever Consider Going Back To The Organization?
by minimus inyes, no or maybe....and why?

NO!
I do not function well under micromanagement, blackmail and threats.
I do have family that have no issues with that type of religion. I wish them well in their life of servitude. -

Let it rip, or hold my tongue? What would you do?
by Confession inthe basic scoop: my best jw friend from michigan came into org with his wife when he was about 26 (he's about 45 now.
) he loved the org, but, aside from being a really cool and interesting guy, he also suffered from depression quite a lot.
more than 10 years ago he approached me about anti-jw stuff he found online.

Hi. Maybe it's too much to hope for but it has been 1.5 yrs since you talked to him about JWs, right? Maybe finding out you are out helped him re-think his position. Maybe he's out himself by now.
I am not a confrontational person so I would probably ignore the elephant at least the first visit or two. Just catch up and enjoy his company - unless he brings it up. -

Need advice from elders, former elders and anyone else for that matter.....
by nonamegiven inok, i've been df'd for 5 months or so now and i'm getting ready to write a letter requesting reinstatment.
i'm assuming something like "i know jah has already forgiven me so now i"m asking you imperfect sinners to forgive me my sins and give me my life back please".
wouldn't work.

Have you read the Flock book? www.angelfire.com/mo/flockbook
I know some have found ideas in the book as to what the elders are looking to hear before they will reinstate. Unless you have good friends or relatives that are elders, 5 months is really too soon to expect anything. Never hurts to try though. Don't be surprised if you have to submit a second letter. -

GB Members Greenlees and Chitty
by Greenlees_or_Chitty inleo greenlees governing body member leo k. greenlees was forced to resign and leave bethel in late 1984. he entered the toronto, canada bethel in 1936, eventually becoming treasurer of the canadian branch and of the ibsa of canada.
in 1964 he went to brooklyn bethel, and in 1965 was elected as a director of the society's new york corporation.
as a director greenlees automatically became a "governing body" member when that body was formally instituted in 1971. he often spoke at gilead graduations, and was the concluding speaker for the day at the watchtower centennial business meeting at three rivers stadium in pittsburgh, pennsylvania on october 6, 1984. a 1982 watchtower mentions him as being on the teaching committee of the governing body.

I learned about WTS & pedofiles & the UN & the 1914 generation - so much stuff I had missed out on because I had avoided anything JW for so many years.
I learned they changed wording in the WT from the single issue to the bound volume. I learned they changed wording in the books from one printing to the next. I learned about Johannes Greber.
I also learned I have a cousin on JWD. I'm not alone!! -

I'm so happy you got the job. Are you leaving GA right now - like today? Sorry your dad is taking it so bad. You are a strong person - you will be successful. Wish I could do something to help you.
Is Faded4SoFar really your brother? -

Got a letter from a JW stranger in another state!

I feel so bad this is happening to you. The WTBTS has certainly set themselves up as more important than families and friends. Hang in there. Just pray he comes to his senses and sees it for what it really is.
I am one of those that just faded away from it all so my family still speaks to me so far. I have tried at times to point things out to them but they always justify the errors and wrongs the WTBTS does. -

Have you discussed any of the JW beliefs with your son before? Could you ask him to "help" you research some things that you have come across?
I guess it would depend on your relationship with him whether or not to send him a copy of your letter(s). I was thinking of sending it to him since you suspected he referred the wit lady to you. Definitely don't want to drive a wedge between the two of you.
Have you discussed any of the WTS beliefs with him in the past? If he is close, maybe just ask him to read the letter before you send it - to get his opinion? -

If I may make one suggestion, don't hit her with several topics at once. It can be overwhelming. My sister recently sent me a whole package of copies from the Proclaimers book justifying their flip flops & new light. I have yet to wade through it. She was responding to an email I had sent her where I quoted from some old publications.
Perhaps address one topic at the time and send her one letter a week or something like that. (How about sending your son a copy of the letter you send to her?)
