My hubby just laid down some rules to my elder dad
by Es inrecently an elder called mike's mob phone wanting to speak to me, the only person who could have passed on that info was my elder dad.
mike has been waiting for my dad to call him to arrange to see the kids, as he wont deal with me at all.
so mike said to him i dont appreciate you giving our number out to the elders, we want nothing to do with them or your religion etc... mike than called me and said there was so much more i wanted to tell him.. i get a phone call about 30 mins later, mike had rang my dad and said if you want to see your grandkids then there are a few rules you will need to follow, 1. dont ever give out our personal details (which my dad apologised for and acknowldeged that he shouldnt have done that ) and 2. if you want to see your grandkids you need to speak to your daughter, you can msg her phone or even speak to her.

In my area, we have an outreach program that helps people in your situation. Call the local unemployment office and see if you have a similar program. Do you have any kindly grandmother types in your neighborhood that could help out in a pinch? Look for an online discussion board for single parents in your area--you might find some valuable resources that way too.

When I graduated high school, college was heavily frowned upon and so I took one class a semester and I was weighed down with guilt. My cong had quite a few kids graduate at the same time and several of them went into pioneering directly.
Two years ago, I finally got my Associates degree and last month I completed my BS. I am going into a Masters program in the fall. My only regret is that it took soooo long to get my degrees because I was trying to be a "good" dub. I am glad I finally completed the majority of my education though and the work prospects are much better--despite Borg propaganda to the contrary.

Judicial Question: To All Active Elders..Or Those Requested to Meet...
by Lady Liberty indear friends,.
i have a question, that i was hoping someone out there would be able to answer: .
what would happen if the judicial committee recieved a letter from a medical doctor stating that due to a medical condition so & so will not be attending the jc meeting and the situation would be reviewed in 30 days by the doctor.

In my experience, they could care less. I actually had a friend who was a respected elder call the JC and tell them my doctor did not recommend adding any further stress since I was recovering from two back-to-back hospital stays. They backed down for a week, but it really did not matter to them what I was going through even though I was no threat to anyone and had not been to a meeting (aside from the Memorial) in over a year. I think it matters if they are still human and have some compassion left in their shriveled souls.
Good luck with that!

There is paperwork to fill out to determine whether I met the accountant qualifications over there. On the surface it appears that I do according to the NIA website. I still have much research to do and yes, I would love to visit to make sure it would be a good fit before taking the final step of actually moving there.
Lani--any information you could provide on rent/mortgage costs, typical utility bills, grocery costs would be useful. I am more a city girl than suburb girl so if I could afford it, I would prefer to live where the action is work and social wise.
I have not thought of Melbourne so maybe I will look at that location too.
Thanks guys! You are the best.

another story
by mentalclearness inwell learning to fly's story inspired me to write this one...it happened to my extended family...well here goes...our family is very deep rooted in the organization....like in the proclaimers book...part of history...anyways, this one famous "brother" had several children and was an active witness throughout his life..enjoying the type of notoriety that comes from being part of jw history and having a recognizable last name...one day we find out he has died...and apparently it wasn't an accident because he left a note....of course other family members try to say he mixed his medicine...but why the note???
well soon after one of his daughters is super depressed and tries to commit suicide.
she is also a witness...slowly after much therapy seems she gets her memory back and remembers that good old dad sexually abused her until she got her period...turns out he did this to all his children....of course all of them had blocked out the memories but all had problems with their husbands in the sexual department...they all began remembering incidences as well...so in the end, this brother that everyone looked up and thought was so wonderful was just another sick pedophile who raped all his kids and committed suicide.

Pedophiles seem quite drawn to the Borg and I guess since they get carte blanc with the two witness rule and oh yeah, they cry so they can't possibly be guilty of that heinous sort of conduct! I am so not surprised to hear stories like this one. I lived it. Mr. Elder at the hall and brutal abuser at home. Great childhood and somehow I kept convincing myself that it just was not Jehovah's time to step in....
